Yeah, no, i think if they forgot to make it something you can skip then that’s incompetence. They took something that would be perceived as defining a whole build and tried to lessen the perception and in doing so put it in a place that you would be expected to take it.
They probably could’ve done less damage by ignoring Momentum as a capstone and doing nothing.
This is just gibberish. I’m trying to argue that Momentum isn’t relevant to people who don’t need it for the content they’re doing. You’re talking in bizarre abstracts about “consumer base of business” in order to accommodate the greivances of people who probably don’t need to worry so much, if at all. I’m using a very simple Meta build that avoids all these things, so that old Legion build is still there. Although, if Essence Break and Chaos Strike were full aoe, I’d be happier.
I think the biggest problem with Momentum is the management than a talent that makes you use Fel Rush for dps. If devs simply changed Momentum to add raw damage to FR, it might make things better.
Same reason Meta would be better if it were resource based instead of time. Being allowed to move around and not punish yourself for doing anything else during Meta would be great.
For the 1000th time you do not have to play momentum build. “Non Mover” is more than viable.

Disagree on almost all takes here. Essence Break is fun to play around, and the momentum build is also fun. I use it for pvp.
Havoc is one of the better designed specs. Why I moved from DK which is trash.
I do not understand the desire to go back to 2 buttons with no thought needed on when to use CDs.

Best take. I think they should remove the 25 fury cost on glaive talent (clunky) and knock a minute off meta… but I think havoc is overall very fun.
Going from one the easiest classes to hardest is a wonderful change. Four button meme is no longer relevant and I hope it stays that way.

I am hating DH currently as well. Momentum plus fodder to the flame is a go you-know-what yourself…
I used to main combat rogue in vanilla. I mained it until it became outlaw and hated that. I stopped WoW for a while, came back for Legion and DH it was. It filled that play style I liked. (Kind of an erratic melee dps).
I’m just not having fun right now, especially in raid where it’s ST and Momentum is the build. I hate having to try to balance jumping around just because, making sure to use an ability mid-jump in a hit box, to try to damage while trying to dodge mechanics and do the things (while praying fel blade doesn’t kill me by jumping into bad to attack/build fury) and making sure my demon doesn’t finish me off (it has when low on health because my glaive doesn’t line up or bounce or whatever). I tunnel too easily trying to do the rotation, or I play too safe on mechanics to where I’m just hanging out on the bottom of the meter. It sucks.
I know/realize that part of why I hate it is because I suck, I’m not denying this. I just don’t care for this play style. I was decent average before DF, it’s hard to go backwards. I’m not feeling DH right now, but I also don’t like to hop around to the class/spec flavor of the month. I’m generally invested in/committed to my main.
I can only hope DH will be re-worked, but with every class tuning post and every non-mention of DH, I lose hope.
Probably just time to stop playing so much for a bit, really.

I love my DH but I can’t stand momentum.
The Hunt should be a black or fel spell effect and not a blue one.
Additionally, VDH should have Last Resort as a baked-in spell and just give us the talent point back.
Honestly, you could give momentum to VDH in place of Last Resort and no one would complain.
This is my story too. And I was super disappointed when they made the new talent trees and didn’t allow a path to play old combat rogue style.

I called it for 10.1, Im a call it for 10.1.5, We wont get a lick of attention, until a week or before release, then get random changes no one asked for. With zero time to test and give feedback to whomever is working on us now. Just wait for it

i try to go in and do aamage in a team fight and im just aoe rooted. aoe stunned. aoe feared. screw that. garbage

hey, mages have been completely ignored since the release of DF while being broken (in a not fun way) with absolutely horrible talent trees and build. Not a single word from devs. Until 10.1.5 big rework announcement. Maybe they will look into DH later.
