I have ignored people and still had their whispers going through. It only works half the time. I have a feeling that odd characters might be causing the issue.

If you’re using the ignore from the “report” section, that’s only temporary and resets when you log out and back in, exit the game, ect.
To put someone on ignore using the actual ignore button is the only way to do so permanently. If you’re trying to ignore someone from a different realm, it doesn’t always work and it will return an error like “cannot find player” or something like that. If that happens, you have to open up your friends list and manually ignore them in the ignore tab by typing out the name-realm or you can use the chat box to do “/ignore (playername)-realm” and you can do it without the realm portion.
I would double check your actual ignore list to see if they are added. If do not know an alt code for a letter, you can google that as even I don’t know ever single command for each letter. It just has to be exact.

Well you don’t access that feature by left clicking them. It’s a right click, and I also provided you alternatives to manually placing them on ignore by typing it out yourself in the actual ignore list. You have other options available.
lol. left click/right click w/e. and ur solution to something not working is to ignore it and do somethng else? go troll another forum dude. If there is a button that is supposed to do something and it is not working. then that is an issue.
But he’s right? You can ignore someone by right clicking their name in the chat box, but if “Player Not Found” appears (which tends to happen with off-server people you try to ignore via right click), you’ll need to manually type out the name-server combo to ignore them properly.
Right click and report for spam/language only puts the offending player on a temporary ignore list that’s cleared once you log off the character you’re currently on.
ya but that’s not what happened. I didn’t get a “player not found” message. I right clicked, clicked ignore. and i kept getting messaged. sounds like something is broken. And I also never used the report spam button. Never said that I did.
