Ignore feature on forums

If the burden were on me instead of Blizzard, I wouldn’t be able to find a way to fairly balance between people being able to speak their mind and a mega thread of people being able to speak their mind, I suppose what it comes down to is that more people agree with that certain thing, even if they do so more unprofessionally than others.

+1 vote for this feature please!

I don’t think so. I rarely post for entertainment purposes. I post hoping it’s noted somewhere.

Or you make them go away somehow

Thing is. If they implemented that the vast majority of MvPs and gimmick posters would be talking to themselves.

So true and sad!

I don’t wanna talk to myself. I am an awful listener…

Here’s a rather simplistic example of what I am saying: there is a thread with 100 posts arguing whether waffles or pancakes are better.

90 people want pancakes. 10 want waffles. But one of the 10 is a schill for the waffle company and every other post is by that schi despite him being a minority. 20 people were discouraged from posting since the schill was baiting endlessly. That schill should be ignorable.

I see, in this case it’d still be unfair as there’s no verifiable way to tell if someone is working for a company or not, and if it happens they’re not, being silenced for that is unfortunate.

I believe you read my mind.

My issue isn’t even with outright trolls. It’s with schills and what they do to playerbase discussions.

Yeah, I understand how it can get pretty annoying. The thing is, just don’t read those posts. Flag them if you must, but try to pay no attention. Converse with the folks you want to converse with. Ignore the trolls. It’s really possible to do. Don’t respond even if they quote you directly.

Meaning, “I don’t like that someone else has a different viewpoint and may not hate what I do, so I don’t want to deal with them and would rather just insult them.”

That’s not true at all. Discussion is fine. Obstinate reinforcement of infallibility to derail discussion with people you don’t agree with is not.

But even if you ignored him, other people would see the posts. Ignore features don’t hide someone else’s post from other people, only from yourself.

Until there’s a moderator AI that is programmed with super psychology, I dunno if there’ll be a good solution to this

My assumption is that those that wanted to pile onto a like minded thread would likewise ignore alot the schills leaving them in an echo chamber regardless.

I will never ignore you, friend

I’ve seen people disagree. I’ve seen trolling just to upset people. But I have never seen that which you reference.

And please stop calling people shills. It’s insulting and earns you zero respect.

Dear Elune no wonder this guy needs an ignore list.
