So I started to play WoW back when BFA first came out and it was at that time the first MMO I’ve ever played. I got into it because of a friend who had played since day 1 convinced me to play. I found it very overwhelming despite how optimistic I was to learn. I realized when I wasnt playing with my friend I was spending more time on google getting questions answered to continue.
So I gave it up and when classic came out my friend said I should start at the roots and then maybe Id appreciate retail. I ignored that for a year and one day I had a itch to try after finding all my other games to be a bore. Classic blew my mind, I absolutely fell in love with it and played for maybe 6 months before I got my brother playing. We all played 2 months together on classic before we hopped on retail and Ive got to say a month back into playing retail and I absolutely do appreciate what retail is.
I do understand that those of you have played since day one may hate to love this game and swear one day youll never be back but here you are, looking on forums. As much I wish I had the same experiences moat of you had back in the OG days I’m kinda glad I’m here now.
Ive recently started a Kul Tiran Druid because I just learned that you can get alternate looks for your forms. I started Legion with Chromie (because I want the black and green bear form) and after the initial siege and cutscene the whole game feels like a Druid expansion which feels awesome.
My friend said all the classes get their own questline in Legion and I’m glad I stumbled upon it. Is there any other expansion that touches on the classes like Legion? I havent got far into the expansion mind you. Maybe 5 quests beyond getting the Claws of the Ursoc.

I absolutely love classic - but never played the OG version! Whenever I get too stressed or too caught up in retail wow, I’ll hope over to classic and just vibe.

Vanilla used to have several class specific quests. They have long since been removed in the main game, they are probably in classic though.
Don’t believe any of the other expansions had much in ways of class quests the same way Legion did.
You can do them all if you roll a toon of each class. It is a lot of fun.

Classic had some but of course no longer exists.
Then from what I recall it was basically nothing until the Warlock Green Fire quest line in MoP.
Legion was really in a league of its own when it comes to class identity.

I probably will as this Druid feels awesome, I want to see how everything else compares. May go with rogue or warrior next, maybe pally.

In Legion? That sounds cool if so.
Nah, classic for the stance quests. Berserker stance was a pain to get on pvp servers, too.
Sorry guy, but most forum regulars from years ago are no longer playing.
First I’m glad you are the game. I’ve played since early 2005, with breaks of course I’ve not consistently played every day since then.
I don’t play classic that much because I did play so much of vanilla/OG wow - which was even a little different than classic is since the started classic at I think 1.12?
It was fantastic back then because the time of the game - lotr was recently out in movie theaters wow was fresh so you really did discover everything it was a good vibe for any fantasyRPG fan.
But anyway as much as I enjoyed that time I appreciate retail a lot. I prefer it to classic.
I was 20 years younger back then I had less responsibility in my life , retail just respects my time more. And it’s getting better with TWW.
This is a common misconception of the motives behind the ‘complainers’ here on the forums. Sure, there are a rare few that post here with only disappointment in their hearts…but you have to understand that for the most part, very few are going to bother coming to these forums if they aren’t interested in the ‘well being’ of the game.
They complain because they care. They don’t want to see bad writing or poorly thought out design choices to mess up their experience.
