Imagine if they did cataclysm but… no flying in the old world. You have to experience it all from ground mount. I think that’d be pretty cool and give everyone a new experience replaying the same thing.
to people who say “blah blah you can just choose to use a ground mount blah” yes you can choose to shoot yourself in the foot as every1 progresses much faster than you. I’d love to have this as a global experience for cataclysm.

Cata introduced flying to the old world. Which a lot of people agreed was fun for a second but ultimately changed things to much.
Why would flying in zones that max level characters never enter change things in a meaningful way?
This is a great point I should have had in my list. Going back to the old world without outland/northrend would be a great opportunity to remove flying as well.
You need flying in cata their is dungeons and a raid that you literally need to fly too. Also the southern new zones suck without flying.

Retail doen’t even have “vanilla” levelers anymore. Most take chromie and better expacs to 10 to 60 it.
Maybe some do a vanilla run. but they also spam the hell out of LFD too. And its here they level faster.
One night I on leveler I had a “dream” night. Stocks, RFC, gnome…LFD kept popping the classics. They were not made for DK’s and DH’s lol.

On top of that need I remind you literally 1 of the First raids guess what you fly up to it so no Flying in the old world is great.

Is that not the situation in every expansion? Blizzard forces you to experience it without a flying mount until level cap… or in future expansions until you complete all the zones?
I don’t get why people are so against flying in the old world… like we should be fighting for the actual old world to still be accessible not that the new “old world” forces you to walk for some strange reason.
I mean to be fair if we have rdf It really won’t be that long I personally don’t care if they want unlocked flying at level one as long as you can buy it I don’t care.

Because world pvp Such a huge thing now ? Or in tbc ? Even before people got flying mounts Yup that grind to level 70 World PVP was alive and well. It was flying mounts that killed it completely not lack of interest.
That’s why the biggest pvp Servers are one faction Or the other ya ok.

Instead of running away being faster, killing someone will be faster, and it’ll probably cause a knock on effect.
Gankers will use it on lowbies, lowbies will level to max, they gank other lowbies or defend their lowbies, assuming anyone people actually care about something other than parsing for once, but that’s a hard doubt because why run around the zones when you can sit in the faction capital all day and people wouldn’t even consider it without incentive that makes them parse better.
