If you're willing to extend hide armor for all slots except pants

Then why not get rid of armor type transmog restrictions in general? If you’re willing to let warriors fight almost naked, why not let them fight in dresses or robes? Or a barbarian leather outfit? Or more chain mail? Why can’t a battle mage or priest wear armor?

The OP probably meant a good mog though.

So one option? For only the alliance?

Nothing in this thread so far hinted that it would be one option or only for the Alliance.

I think Mag’s point is that we already have one option for battle mage gear, so there’s no reason why we can’t have more.

No doubt. I’ve always used that stormwind set as my argument for making the orc clan sets cosmetic. I would love to have a mag’har warrior in the warsong armor set.

That was directed at Magnarok sorry

I have always been against letting Rogues wear plate or Warriors tanking in the AQ slave dress but you’re right. Why the hell not? Armor-class fantasy has been put into the shredder and then lit on fire.

Class fantasy in general has been lit on fire, each expansion offers more and more homogenization.

So basically it comes down to “do we want to see mages, priests, and warlocks running around in plate armor?” Yeah… no thanks

Any class can transmog armor in ESO. My sorcerer is transmogged to full plate gear.

I wish WoW would do the same. More options is never a bad thing.

Thanks tier-less expansion! Boy, this Azerite system sure was worth –

*Dies of acute sarcasm poisoning*

Overall It’d be nice, but I will say it’d cheapen heritage armor. One of the best parts about heritage armor is using the plate looking stuff on clothies.

This.

Plus, leather and mail are largely just brown garbage. Give us all more options. Bonus for you you, Blizz. Everyone will have to play an alt of every armor type to get more mogging options. More time played. You like that.

Oh, I would love to wear leather armor on my pally or warrior, to make it a “Agile fighter” style, you know?

I don’t know what they plan to do about restrictions but it probably won’t be soon. I just dropped a ticket yesterday

And was responded with this:

Unfortunately, this is a question where the only answer that we can give is a no. If we were to bypass those restrictions in the transmog system, or bypass the restrictions in the loot binding system, and either just unlock that appearance, or allow that item to be moved to another one of your characters, that would be bypassing the intended limitations of the game, and essentially overriding our developer’s decisions regarding how loot and transmog works.
Since it is not the role of Customer Support to override our developers, we unfortunately are not able to assist with this request.

I am not surprised or actually upset becuase I fully expected this to be the outcome. The CS was nice. Maybe things will change down the road but I sure as heck am not going to bother holding my breath.

I can post what I did yes?

I 100% agree, in the most recent q&a though Ion did say something that could mean they are considering it. While talking about transmog restrictions he said something about how in the past they had tried to maintain the expected silhouette when it came to transmog but that things like heritage armor had made it less of a concern.
