If you're playing MoP Remix, watch these

It was so great when they started doing these, and I believe MoP was indeed the first.

Burdens of Shaohao

Having these before new expansions now is neat, hopefully they continue.

I knew Shaohao wasn’t that powerful, but that was too much. Wow. Thank you, I never knew all his power came from borrowed power.

Thank you OP.

Emperor Shaohao was certainly a WoW character

You could describe all of the significant lore characters that way.

Malfurion, the strongest druid? His power comes from the Dream. Borrowed power.

Tyrande, Elune’s favorite princess? Borrowed power.

Gul’dan, big shot warlock? Borrowed from demons.

Thrall, powerful shaman? Borrowed and lost. Man wasn’t even allowed to keep Doomhammer.

It’s kinda reductive.

There are some people who compared Shaohao to August Celestials in terms of power. Turns out, he got his power from them, and Sheilun, Staff of the Mists also helped.

Also, the Monkey King is likely immortal, due to the fact he wields (or at least wielded) the Brewmaster Monk artifact weapon, Fu-Zan, a walking staff which was fashioned from a branch of the first tree planted in Pandaria, when Freya set out to seed Azeroth with life.

It was later given by Freya to the jade serpent goddess Yu’lon, who then gave it to “a uniquely clever Hozen” (Monkey King) since she herself figured it was meant to be given to a mortal. At first, she didn’t think Hozen were worthy, but she was proven wrong in the end.

Seeing as how Hozen on average live to be like 12-14 years old, with elders being 20 years old, it’s quite a mystery as to how the Monkey King is still alive when Shaohao himself passed around the time of The Sundering, thousands of years ago.

He’s very likely immortal just based on the fact he was given Freya’s own walking stick, and Freya herself is the god of life, the Emerald Dream likely exists because of her.

Man, I wish Hozen were playable already.
