If you're not Playing Classic on Launch Day, Why?

All people are a part of the one universal consciousness, so you are actually the same person.

Wrong again! Because if what you said was true:

We would be the same person and have the same score!

I do not plan to ever be there. I played during vanilla. I remember it and I don’t want to go back. It had it’s good times, but mostly the experience is not worth going back too for me.

I like your debate tactics.

I went through Vanilla from the beginning of the game. I have nothing against nostalgia but i choose to live in the present and look forward to the future rather than wallow in the past.

Blizzard didn’t open enough servers so I’ve been stuck in a sub 130min queue for the past 5ish hours.

Whoever decided that I can’t play the current expansion while logged into classic should get fired.

Been there, done that, got the “I Quit My RP Guild So I Could See Ragnaros and All I Got was a Trash Drop That I Prayed For Anyway Because I Could Vend It and Hope That I Could Buy an Epic Mount Soon” t-shirt.

No shade on people who want to see what all the hubub was about or who want to roll around in the nostalgia for a while, but I’ve been over it for like thirteen years now.

2K to 8k queues.

I didn’t feel like waiting an hour to log in. I’ll get around to it eventually though.

Why am I not playing Classic?
Three words: Jurassic World: Evolution.

To me Classic is a crappier version of the game. Less abilities, less balance, less races, less combat, lesser graphics, less quality of life, less content and no transmoging. Like what the hell were they thinking making that? I wish they would have saved the human resources and money to go forward instead too!

i did it once, original version, original flavor, not this copy version. in other words why bother?

Because while I didn’t play vanilla, my memories of leveling my toons 1-60 during Burning Crusade were completely and utterly miserable. All my friends were at max level or doing BC content, and I was left pugging groups for quests and spending vast amounts of time alone.

The thought of doing that again doesn’t sound like fun. You’d have to PAY me to do that again- or give me some incentives or something.

Plus it sounds like there’s some technical issues going on at the moment. So yeah, thats why I’m not there right now. Or tomorrow. Or anytime probably.

You guys have fun when the bugs get ironed out.

Because according to actuarial tables, my expected wait in queue is longer than my total remaining expected lifespan.

Completely different games.

This :100:. I’ve been playing wow since 2003 beta 2004 release (fun times). I’ve been there done that. If they plan to just focus resources on old content, then maybe my time in wow has come to an end.

I am not playing Classic on launch day for this reason.

It is 1030 at night. My guild chose Herod and don’t want to change it. I am currently 16355 in queue with an estimated wait time of 213 minutes.

I will dabble in Classic. I will goof off, but I will not be a serious player. I have already been there and done that, have the title for my efforts.

Once I feel I am set with what I want to accomplish for the day in retail, I might hop over. I was supposed to be off today, but between getting called in for work, and real life exploding, I had no time to get anything done. I did not even log in until after Classic was live.

So those are pretty much the reasons, at least for me. I did like the way you posed this thread though. After all the other garbage threads, at least you are being polite and respectful (I will make the assumption this continues with responses haha)

Because I don’t consider Classic to be worth my time.

I played Classic, back when it launched in 2004. I loved it then, but it’s not a good game anymore.

  • I don’t want to go back to classes being pigeonholed into one role if they want to PvE.
  • I don’t want to go back to having to sink dozens of talent points into filler talents that only give me incremental upgrades just so I can get that one ability that was locked behind them.
  • I don’t want to go back to having horrible itemization on loot where you could get agility on shields and strength on cloth items.
  • I don’t want to go back to hunting 20 Goretusks in Westfall just so I can get 4 livers, or exterminating the entire Zhevra population of the Barrens just to get 3 hooves.
  • I don’t want to go back to a game where there was no meaningful end-game content and rep grinds consisted of constantly farming mobs in a specific spot for 5 rep per kill.

There is so much wrong with classic in my mind, that you couldn’t pay me to install it, much less play it, and I personally feel like Blizzard shouldn’t have wasted their time on it. All the development hours and talent spent on Classic could have been instead spent on making retail much more appealing.

Roughly the same content until you reach the option to head out to Outland. Not much different in terms of quests. Just talents and balance changes.

I feel like I experienced “enough” of what of what it was like to feel like I don’t want to experience the real thing.

Kinda missing the point of why I don’t want to play Classic.
