Oh this is easy for me. I came back 3-4ish months ago because of classic hype. I originally played WoW from day 1 vanilla until the end of Wotlk. Most of that time playing at a “hardcore” level. Full time raiding, part time PvP. I loved it at the time and have lots of great memories.
I came back with the idea in my head that id get to start fresh. Try a new class or two and do it all over again.
Then I played retail for a few months while waiting for classic to release and… I love it. BFA is fun and I love my Druid. I could go into detail but you get the idea.
Mostly its the quality of life improvments and ease of access to everthing now thats won me over. I schedule one raid night a week. The rest of the time I spend with family (Ive got a 2 year old son.) When I do have spare time to play, I can do anything I want, whenever I want. If my entire guilds asleep and im awake at 3am because thats daddy life sometimes, I can find a M+ pug in 5 minutes and feel like ive accomplished something. (Just for example.)
You cant do that in classic. I loved vanilla WoW. I still like the idea of playing classic. The fact of the matter is though, that everything about vanilla is a grind and I just dont have the desire to do it again after experiencing the current game.
