You are just trying to pick a fight. A new race IS NOT the main draw to Midnight.
Now, to give you an olive branch, I too do not like the time gating for a new race. I was all ready to roll my Earthen pally at the start of TWW only to have to level fully to 80 on another toon and wait the time out to roll my new main. So yes. That sucks.
BUT.
A new (ill say it again) copy/paste race (sort of a Nelf Troll hybrid???) is not the main draw as you stated. IT MIGHT BE for you. . but taking the temperature of the grander audience I suspect its housing or even the fact we are getting a new expansion and Bloodelf love finally.
I wish they went back to what they did with pandaren, like you can make the character day one, and it has the intro questlines that lead to the point where you choose a faction. It felt good being a neutral pandaren knowing the factions and working with them before deciding.

That was in the OP iirc. Im not trying to do anything except to say, if i pre-order at the epic version, i want the new race asap.
Id rather they do a “quest yourself out of a starting area” rather than an unlock. Pandaria probably had the best version of how to introduce a neutral race.
