My gift disappeared and I’m unsure where it went. I didn’t get it dispelled, what happened?

edit:
I figured out how to get the buff back if anyone else has the same issue. Go pick up the quest that sends you to get it cleansed (Talanji for Horde and I think Jaina for Alliance) and then abandon it. The buff/eye reappears.

Unsure what made it disappear, but at least I have it back now.

Did you go to the barber? He’ll cut that eye right out of you. No worries, though. You can just abandon the quest and your gift should come back.

no I mean the buff is literally gone. I know how to briefly remove the appearance, but the buff is gone.

I still have it. But remember, it’s bugged rn. So it’ll get fixed soon

Yeah. it keeps coming on and off, cosmetic wise, not the buff. Plus the eye movement lags

I’m just saying, that they gift is having trouble in general, not just you. So they’ll probably fix it either tomorrow or tuesday

Yah me too. Hopefully that’s just some emergency thingy that they did, but like I want him back. I miss the sweet nothings he’d whisper in my ear.

seems bugged. at the end of the animation it disappears briefly and the whispers are non-stop

Hey I figured out how to get it back! Go to the NPC that gives you the quest to get it cleansed and then abandon it. It comes right back.

Can confirm this works, but it still disappears and reappears every few seconds in BFA content. Perfectly fine in old content though.

What do you do if the quest disappeared too? I went back to Talanji and she’s not offering the quest to me anymore. I never cleansed the curse, I never abandoned the quest… both disappeared on there own at the same time.

Super bummed right now because I can’t reacquire the quest… I miss those sweet words of affection that N’Zoth was whispering in my ear.

what if its not a bug and its us all going insane and forgetting we have been infiltrated by nzoth and hes making us forget we have the buff so we cant cleanse it and he can take over us all and become the new daddy and have his own army to fight against cthun because this is a lovecraft story and we believe in cthun existing again and thats what death and sleep are exchangeable to lovecraft gods means, we bring them back to life by believing in them. Nzoth needs us to believe in him not cthun so he can win if cthun comes back.

Just got a reply from a GM stating this can’t be undone and that it was my fault.

Funny, as I am standing here looking at my Gift of N’zoth again.

Is this quest locked to only one character??
I completed the quest chain on my warlock but i cant get the quest item to drop on this character.

For the record, the quest on alliance side to remove the gift comes from Brother Pike in the office behind one of the quarter masters (where the weekly cache is), not Jaina.
