If You Use Raider IO, You Deserve M+ Leavers

If you own a company in an at-will hiring world, and you hire someone that is top-tier in their profession, expect that person to leave as soon as a better opportunity comes along. If you hire proficient people in their profession, they will be more loyal, even if you have the right to fire them on the spot for no reason whatsoever.

Why do these M+ leavers leave? We may not always know. But consider this, when you use Raider IO to "hire" someone, you are just going off some one-dimensional rating. You don't know anything about the person's character. Also, when you turn down players because you're looking for "the best", you are alienating your rejects from ever grouping with you.

You may turn down a Keenan Allen in favor of an Antonio Brown based on numbers, but you are also getting someone who's going to cry when he doesn't get his way.

So, as my thread title suggests... you use Raider IO to measure your standards for your M+ invites, you really do deserve M+ leavers.

What we really need is an addon that measures...

the person's character.

I would like to know what people opposed to Raider.io suggest in its place. How do I find players that have the skill to complete my key? On what basis do I decide between the 17 other DPS signing up? 5000 word essay on morality and manners?

don't be silly, OP wants you to just take someone randomly... If they ruin your key? well better luck next time, and judging by how this was posted on a 114, i think its safe to guess his score isn't that good

Even if it's not that good, they can hide their scores now so it's possible he doesn't even have a 120 or doesn't know about the changes.

Regardless this is a new and exciting conversation.
you can buy a "carry" and have whatever score you want, its now kinda meaningless. Yet like ilevel and this, someone will find something to try to separate people thinking they are only getting goods and not bads. You got two options, follow this new trend or make your own and pick whoever you like.

The person with score x and score y both apply - one has done this dungeon with the affixs of the week one hasn't. pick the guy who's done it even if its lower. Of course that addon doesn't tell you such things you need to go to the website but that would make more sense then going "higher score better player". That would make the more logical sense in a "gotta not randomly pick someone" ideal.

It's hilarious you would make this topic after you acted like a smug Ivy-leaguer in the topic I made.

I have not seen a leaver in more runs than i can count, I guess i should stop using raider.io to make good groups and run with bads like OP
Whatever happened to creating/joining guilds to meet new friends and just doing content with those in your guild where you've all agreed on a time and day to do it together because, hey it's fun to play games with friends.

So which alternative way do I use to weed out badly performing players? Do you have one?

You play with them and make a judgement based on their performance. Seems pretty simple to me.

Your thread inspired me.
How bout a social points addon where you can rate people based on their group performance. Like china.

Well, since you think poorly of players who use raider.io, could you post on your main?

So as a player I can choose to manually block you if raider.io ever gets removed.

I don't run mythics. My 120 is a tank, but I will probably do no more than heroics. Yes, my score isn't that good because I care more about having fun than stressing over some timed M+ and finding/trusting in some random gamer. I would suggest finding a core group of players and work your way up together instead of trying to leapfrog your way up, using faceless others on your way up the chain. YOU are a "faceless other" to them as well. I'd rather play with people that I somewhat know rather than a random unknown off the heap.
Most of the people that I see leave groups are ones I invite with no IO though?

Mr. Sex Toy, I don't think poorly of Raider IO users, but I think they are doing themselves, others, and the game a disservice by being so one-dimensional and impersonal in the selection process.

The only way you can measure morals is to talk to the person and get to know them

GD had this topic before where they claimed speaking to each and every invitee is not feasible and would rather have a number to do the quick filtering on player experience while gambling with their attitude.

One rng is better than two right :)
