After switching to New World and playing for the few weeks I can tell you without a doubt that the New World forums is easily 5-10x more toxic than the Blizzard forums have ever been…you guys are honestly super nice even the trolls.
I guess thats the difference between a f2p and a game with a subscription…you know a game is bad when entire guilds are coming back to Wow instead of playing NW.
That’s not overly surprising, seeing as how New World is more of a pvp game. WoW’s forums are more of a meme than anything else. PvP games have vitriolic communities.
As Fenny said, New World is PvP-oriented, so if you compared their forums to the PvP forums, you might find similar results. For me, it’s all about increasing that gnome count, baby! I have no intention of being mean to anyone, unless I see them being mean to someone else and I think it’s justified (and adorable because gnome)!
no, F2P or subscription has nothing to do with it. what does have a lot to do with it is the average age of the players - I play a game that the average age is probably 55 or so and there is rarely any problems in game or on the forums.
Could be because a lot of toxic warcraft players quit and are now playing that game, doing what they do …
I swear last 3 weeks or so, it seems people are much more nicer in-game, but it could be the time of day I’ve been logging in since I haven’t been working for the last four weeks.
I think the game has potential. People are too quick to throw in the towel. Games especially MMO’s often take time to improve. Even WoW took time when it first started
