Honestly I can never tell with this forum and your name doesn’t exactly incline me to think you’d be joking.
Or throw us a wicked curve ball because there must always be a lich queen amiright?
Sorry… not sure how they can ‘redeem’ here ala Kerrigan.
You have to remember that structurally in story telling, Sylvanas becoming the leader of the Forsaken is akin to Heart of the Swarm Kerrigan in that she has been freed from being controlled by another entity (e.g. Lich King/Hive Minds).
So at this point, where Kerrigan was reclaiming her zerg powers in HoTS in order to prepare for the oncoming threats, Sylvanas chooses to not only become outright genocidal, bout doubles down on the genocide by hitting up another race.
I don’t see how there could be any way to legitimately ‘redeem’ her in that way with the things that she has done AFTER regaining her free will and freedom.
If I went into full detail on how I, and others, believe she is going down the Kerrigan route I would actually be going into spoiler territory but there is a massive hint during Blizzcon when they show her on the big screen during the What’s Next panel. A certain item that a certain spec of a certain class are familiar with from a previous expansion and what it’s revealed to actually be and what said item is capable of.
Yes just as Kerrigan was needed to defeat the Void Lord of the Starcraft Universe Amon, chances are Sylvanas is needed to defeat the Void Lord’s in the wow universe, calling it now.
Next expansion, Zeratul is going to show up and tell us ‘although justice demand she die for her crimes…’ then going to give a long-winded answer as to why she’s needed alive to save the universe.
Meanwhile, Genn Greymane and all other male characters remain completely expendable.
So long as the Horde does NOT suffer another civil war and forced to raid our own capital city to kill our Warchief AGAIN… I don’t give a flying %^&# what happens to Sylvanas.
Not sure how that would hint at the path of Redemption considering who and/or what that particular item likely was. That wasn’t exactly a redeeming item.
Granted, I may have missed something somewhere there isn’t really anything actually redeeming about that item and its influences.
Given what the item was used for and it’s relation to what Sylvanas is immune to, her getting her hands on it screams that she’s going to use said item in her redemption.
Mostly Given how Illidari are where treated, I be happy she get throw in crystal and be trap there 4ever
Her immunity is what makes this even more troubling.
Everyone know she wont dies. Shes to beautiful to die
yeah if you into Necrofellia
It’s either redemption or they’re gonna go for even worse writing and she uses it on her sister.
umm she’s alive but in a different way so its not necrofilia
Nah it in book, Undeath still counts for Necrofillia
Or they just gave her the ability to harness a powerful item without any of the drawbacks (e.g. abandonment) of the previous owners.
It is a stretch to think that giving someone who has shown a penchant for committing genocide (against orders and just because she got sassed that one time) an item like that is a signal for redemption, especially when she has an in-built immunity to the negative effects associated with said item.
Keep in mind that the item itself no longer contains any power by the time she gets her hands on it. It’s an empty vessel at that point.
That remains to be seen.
I personally have a theory about who the three deaths actually refers to. -edit to add- Which IMO is just as outlandish at this point as saying that this signifies a redemption story for Sylvanas.
i know Sylvanas doesn’t die at the end…
John Dies at the End
Well you are right, there isn’t anyway to “legitimately” do it in a way that would feel like natural story telling or character progression. They ARE going to do it though, no matter how awful the story has to become to make it so or how much people hate it.
