Hunters can serve as offtanks with their pets assuming they are properly specced and have the correct pet abilities to toughen them up. obviously not on every fight, especially ones that require movement, but enough of them as well as full fledged tanks in 5 man dungeons.

Currently the pet is killed in about 2-4 AA and cannot get crit immune. Their aggro is also very low, with non existant aoe aggro.
Pets can be used to cheese an aoe mechanic, outside of that they are not viable to tank at all.
A full damage focused feral druid is a better offtank in essentially every category outside of aoe damage taken.
Non existant aoe threat says otherwise.
In classic, warriors were really the only true viable hybrid. They were top DPS to the point that some raids were 25-50% warriors, and were also the top Tank with essentially a singe spec.
Paladins and Shaman, they had a single viable job, they could heal that was it, paladins were awful tanks, and both classes were terrible DPS, to the point where no raids would take them unless a buff was needed. As for Druids, they were average tanks, and average healers, and once again terrible DPS. So assuming you actually have to be viable, paladins and shaman in classic weren’t really hybrids, they were healers.
