Based on “Safe Haven”, that’s what it comes down to.

Either that, or you just like her attractive undead body (OK, shouldn’t have said that, knee jerk reaction from someone who should know better…). Because, as a leader, she is a failure. Nothing she is currently doing is “for the Horde” - it’s all purely for Sylvanas. Offing an innocent orc living peacefully on another world minding his own business would do nothing for the Horde, other than lower its already miserable morale.

And tell me, in the history of this game, when has a Warchief ever sent assassins out to kill a potential rival for their position (if indeed Thrall was ever even likely to be that)? (And I edit here: I had forgotten about Vol’jin in MoP, which may be due to a lack of coffee. Then again, Garrosh was getting fairly weird in the head by that stage.)

I believe Saurfang when he said he followed the Forsaken to Nagrand. He has proven the depths of his personal honour frequently in this expansion; lying to Thrall would not fit anywhere within the limits of that honour. And I cannot imagine that filthy behaviour being ordered by anyone other than Sylvanas, it’s too important a decision for any underling to make.

My first characters in this game were Horde, and they still exist today, and if I put myself into their rp personas, all of them would be disgusted by this act.

No, but it’s the last nail in the proverbial coffin, starting with poisoning her own troops and turning them into mindless tools. This is simply confirmation of an extended line of behaviour.

I just wanna see the more villainous characters go full ham, chew the scenery! Ditch the ‘morally grey’ thing and go wild.

I think people would be more okay with this if we saw more of Sylvanas. So far, it’s just her popping in to commit an act of villainy, then disappearing. We’ve interacted more with Baine than Sylvanas this expansion.

Likewise, it was a mistake to let players choose. Why bother including player choice if the outcome (That Sylvanas has gone completely la-la crazy off the deep end) is not even up for debate? Either those fans that were hoping that it would be more balanced in her favor are going to be bitter and disappointed when Blizzard plays it to the hilt and goes “Nope, she a massive beeyotch!”, or those that were against her are going to be livid when she pulls some “Just as planned!” nonsense.

No there isn’t. Except for two things - its been repeatedly stated that neither Faction in WoW are “bad guys”, and most people who support Sylvanas try to excuse her behaviour. I guess if you just like being evil and nasty and following someone who behaves that way, then that’s fine - but just admit to it.

I think the writers have been watching too much Game of Thrones.

In that they’re burning down characterization to produce the outcome they wanted for the story, and the fanbase thinks it’s dumb as heck.
