When you first started WoW, if the dracthyr was one of the choices in the character creation menu where you create a toon, with the class as evoker, would you think it was real?
As in, would you think it was actually a playable race/class that you could choose?
Or would you think that it was some kind of bug/fake/whatever.
At launch it didnât have the goats. How did people react when there was an expansion announced with playable âDraeneiâ that all looked like WC3 Archimonde? (Since, at the time, Draenei only meant the ones who looked like WC3 Akama, i.e. Broken)
Or that Elves are going to join the Horde?
Once youâve accepted those things thereâs nothing particularly out there about playable dragon people.
And there are trolls, tauren, various elementals, ogres, and full fledged dragons in the Warcraft games and WoW, and Worgen (even if not playable yet) in Vanilla.
And as Blizzard can add whatever they want to their universe, it would not have been any stretch for a Dracthyr race to have appeared back then, they would have been more believable in Vanilla than the ânewâ version of Draeni (both visually having changed from the âBrokenâ version in WC3 that was called Draeni, and being alien goats from space)
