I’m of two minds on this.
People shouldn’t be a jerk about it when they say it, but they have a point.
If you’re not willing to learn your class, learn your rotation, learn the fight, you’re being incredibly selfish and a detriment to the raid.
Mind you, I’m referring specifically to those who don’t bother doing any of he above. Not those who just have a hard time raiding and are struggling. Struggling is fine, it’s called Progression with a capital P.
Too many times over the years, I’m top three dps in a raid when I know I shouldn’t be because I can’t remember the last time Balance was ever consistently above the middle of the pact. But I come into any mmo, any class I play with the idea that I’m going to learn how to properly use it so I’m not a burden to those I play with. I study my builds, I read the complicated math charts on Icyveins, I memorize my rotation and I go after the best gear available at the time. Essentially, I put in the work.
Raiding with people who don’t want to put in the work to, as a bare minimum, know their class, is a giant slap in the face.
This really doesn’t have anything to do with LFR being a thing or not, it’s a mentality issue as I’ve seen this in other MMOs. People get Extremely casual with endgame and have no desire at all to improve. This, is a problem.
