The epidemic of people on both factions who sit back and let a healer spam heals without touching him while they mash their keyboard and DPS a DK or other tanky class is ridiculous.
If you DON’T have a “target the healer” addon like Healers Have to Die and are queuing as DPS, do everyone else a favour and get it now.
Download it or something similar, and you’ll be able to see them indicated by a giant “medical cross” icon. That’s literally all you have to do.
People shouldn’t NEED these addons, but it seems a lot do.
Counterpoint - If everyone actually used these ridiculous addons that should not EVEN BE ALLOWED, then you would have even less healers queuing. This would result in even MORE dps playing this silly attempt at PVP of a game.
And thats what we all need in WoW pvp, more mongo DPS.
Other counterpoint: DPS’ing the healers isn’t always the right play. For melee specs that lack stealth especially, reaching a healer at the backline means trudging through a lot of enemies to get there. Hoping they don’t do the easy/correct thing and just tab to you is seldom a safe bet.
It’s generally better to hit who you can rather than to completely compromise your positioning to tickle a healer for a few moments before certain death.
+1 for HHTD though. If you think it won’t help you identify friendly/enemy healers faster, you’re probably wrong. Take the 6 seconds to download it.
I was solidly in the “I don’t need that, it’s not even hard to see the enemy healers” until I tried using it.
I can’t even put into words how much I love the addon. It’s so much quicker to have the little marker than watching casts or scanning names, especially in epics.
Never used HHTD. I try to limit add-ons. He said something about watching casts and scanning names. With bgtargets, I just click on the healer and it shows where they are.
So you have no experience with the add-on but still felt the need to respond to someone stating that the add-on makes finding healers easier.
Typical stupid post to inflate your post count.
I do my best to limit visual clutter and filter out basically any information that isn’t immediately necessary. That’s why I don’t enable nameplates for pets/totems/minors/etc. or saturate my screen with fancy weakauras, but I’m always glad to have the healer indicators. As much as it helps me see who to kill, it helps to me see who I need to peel for just as well.
