If you don't have a guild or group of friends, it feels like the only content to do is world quests

I don’t have a guild (despite what my armory says) or a group of friends to raid, pvp or mythic dungeon with, and I feel like my only other option for content is world quests and LFR.

It just feel like whenever I log on, the only thing there is those two things and it’s a pretty awful experience.

Am I doing something wrong here?

Yes. Join an active guild or make some friends in-game.

Otherwise, your only option is to pug higher end content and that’s not particularly enjoyable.

You could pug. You could also join a guild. I personally pug raids and m+, but also do m+ and mechagon with my guild, which is basically just a small group of friends.

You are, sadly. You’re playing an MMO alone, which means you’re limiting yourself to just the single player content. You should pug or at least try to find a guild. It’ll help in the long run.

lol OP.

This game isn’t designed with friends and guilds in mind anymore. The only content that is designed for guilds now is progression mythic raiding, other than that there isn’t a real reason to even be a productive member of a guild or steady group. Other than progression mythic raiding you can pug every other piece of content available, even higher end content.

Spoken like someone that has never pugged anything before. Pugging is probably the most frustrating thing you can do in this game.

Try pugging a anything above a plus 10, a hard-mode mecha, heroic zaqul/azshara. I dare you.

Very untrue.

Also not true, pugging allows you to play on your own schedule.

That’s why you make sure to use the tools available to us that can potentially make it easier to play with same-skill level players, such as raider.io and wowprogress. If you invite bads and expect them to be solid players then you’re in for a rude awakening.

Well I just log in and do dailies and try to get into LFR .My time is limited due to real life constraints and I don’t know when that will change. Finding time is my issue for progressing though current content. I been playing solo for awhile now its not all that great but I haven’t found my niche yet. I don’t think its wrong to be solo in the game but there is more you can do in a guild setting.
We really can’t tell you something you already know. What I’m trying to say you are the one that needs to decide which direction you are going to take. We can offer suggestions and ideas but in the end its all up to you.

If you want to do group content then find a guild. If not there is plenty of solo activities to do. Just takes a bit of thought.

Can you give some examples?

Yea, you’re not controlling you destiny by creating your own groups.

Start making low level mythic groups. This week is especially good for it because of the weekly quest.

Ask the folks if they’d like to do it again, and start building a friends list.

Most won’t ever come back. But some might.

It takes time, but you can build it up over time. At the end, you either have a mini-group of most reliable friends that play when you play, or perhaps you get invited in to a guild of one of these folks where you can group with others.

If you want to make it extra easy, roll a tank. But even DPS can start groups.

I can identify with you Hamicide. I have a hard time making friends and integrating myself into an established group/guild. I have recently joined two that are wonderful guilds, but because of not having proper ilvl ect. I still feel like I am alone all the time. I just want to make some friends who like doing all the content… Just feels like that’s never going to happen, cause I suck at making friends. XD Sorry for the rant in your post. I hope you find an active guild and people to play with! <3

Questing, WFs, BGs, farming/exploring old dungeons and raids, exploring and questing in old zones that you may have missed, playing alts.

I am not in guild and find things to do. Atm working on my garrison and doing things on Pandaria that I have never done before. My time is limited due to real life constraints so I just worked on areas I haven’t done before with the time I have.

Not a fan of guilds on Wow considering the ones I found well let’s just say we didn’t work due to the questions and stuff they wanted to know so I stopped looking after the 2nd one. I been a member of guilds (I help run one with my boyfriend on SWTOR) , was in a guild on SWG just here it seems not to work with me and guilds.

Hmm … I enjoy world quests so I’m probably not going to be able to offer the OP much useful advice.

Everything’s available… you just have to be willing to use the LFG tool to find it. Normal/Heroic raids pug all the time and mythic is more about your io score apparently… than anything else.

Well there is an easy solution to your problem. You find a guild or a group of friends that you are comfortable with and doing the content you want to explore.

I stopped raiding with my previous guild about mid-Legion. Since I bailed on all that drama it’s been nice making my own schedule to do things but I also have no motivation to raid anymore and i find myself not doing higher keys because of the non-forgiving nature of pugs. Guilds/friends definitely change your experience with the game. These days I don’t even have anyone on my friends list that even log into WoW so it’s been fairly solo in BfA and you can feel the difference.

Guilds are great for game play if you find the right one but all the ones I’ve been in just had drama and I got sick of seeing it in officer chat all the time, guild chat, on FB etc. Just have to find the right fit! Retail WoW isn’t really built around establishing yourself on a server anymore so it can be tougher to find the right people to be around with all the random cross-server pugging when you’re solo.

Try out new guilds, there’s no shame in hopping around. A lot of guild have a “trial period” anyhow when it comes to new members.

Ok…so make some friends?

Thanks. Problem solved. We’re done here.
