If you don’t like the gearing system, maybe MMOs aren’t for you

As a chef would, I only put what people ask for on their plate.

I would like a pair of anime thighs plz.

i just want to clarify things for discussion about the shadowlands gearing system, there is four parts to this:

    1. acquisition of player selected gear from a vendor for currency
    1. gear can be upgraded with honor
    1. honor is capped at 15k
    1. only path of upgrade of that gear is by reaching a specified rating in rated content only
  1. this is good, everyone likes this, it would be nice to have a few more stat choices, but it works as is better than both the BfA and Legion systems.

  2. this is debateble, but as long as we have a ilvl growth overtime, a pvp way of upgrading pvp gear is good.

  3. too low, there should be no cap and it should be account wide. major problem is that if you cap you can’t do any of the earn honor in X quests until you dump some honor on marks.

  4. this is the big stink, rated players upgrade higher than unrated and because of #2 they are encouraged to come into unrated areas of play and pugstomp and gy farm. the ilvl disparity from rated players being able to upgrade their gear and unrated players not is also causing issues, as scaling was removed and the more ilvl you have the better it gets makes higher geared players into super twinks.

…I’m literally saying that dunking on low ilvl players is boring, and Blizzard should fix the gear gap. Your reading comprehension is extremely poor. As is your ability to form a cohesive argument.

Some players don’t want to do rated content. Some players don’t look at WoW as an opportunity for self-improvement, as you seem to. Some players just want to blow off steam after work and have fun in random BGs.

These players don’t deserve a crappy gaming experience simply because they choose to do different content than you do. How you can argue with that is beyond me. This is a video game. Blizzard’s goal is to make sure people are having fun so they continue playing the game. The current system - and your proposal to keep it - are counterproductive to that goal and, therefore, dumb as hell.

Then they don’t deserve gear, simple as that :man_shrugging:

I was talking about this on Discord a couple of days ago. I’d love to know what Blizzard’s thought process was on this? Are we going to have another stat squish as we head into the next expansion?

It’s not worth engaging with Rankone the dude is a clown desperate for attention and when the Arena forums stopped giving it to him he moved over here.

if i kill your main in AV in a 2v2 or i kill your main a 2v2 arena, the outcome is the same, why does one deserve reward and the other not?

AV and 2v2 rated are completely different things, if you can’t see the difference then it makes sense why you think casual BG players are entitled to loot they don’t deserve.

no really, if its just 2v2 of me and my arena partner vs you and your arena partner, what difference does the setting make?

Epic BGs isn’t competitive, neither is Random BGs. There’s no MMR, and all professions are allowed. Arena is considered competitive because it’s just 2v2 or 3v3, no big teams, no gimmicks, just straight beating the other group.

I can be the worst player in the world, AFK the entire Random/Epic BG and win but you can’t just do that in Arena therefore the titles/rewards are far more exclusive and any random person doesn’t have it.

If you do not do rated content, you don’t deserve rated gear. Period.

This is a good line of questioning. Maybe they will get flustered enough to challenge you to a wargame and post their btag.

So, a 2v2 isn’t competitive because of it’s location? This seems like rationalization someone would use when they lose a fight in a BG or world pvp.

I’m confused on why people keep feeding the same troll(s) daily. I mean this one in particular has two identical threads, each getting dozens of replies taking the bait every day.

I don’t get it.

Forum has more content than the game right now, sadly.

I wouldn’t call it a “can” situation, really.

they are zero sum games, making them competitive. they are not rated is what you mean. just because something doesn’t count towards your own personal goal does not make them not competitive.

the overall bg sure, but thats not the 2v2 fight we were discussing.

boosters have bragged about telling their client to just afk the match.

why does rated content deserve better gear at all? pvp is pvp and rated is supposed to be about skill, which is why professions and army of the dead are disabled. why do rated pvpers need more than ilvl 200?

You don’t need more than 200 iLevel to do Random BGs/Epic BGs or World Quests :man_shrugging:

If you do casual content, you get casual gear. Rated content gives rated gear, it’s as simple as that which is why it makes it the superior gearing system compared to previous systems.

you didn’t answer the question.

Lol. Wrong.

215,000

We took a look at the data for the last week in March 2021 and compared it to the numbers for the same time in 2020. As of March 2021, there are roughly 215,000 WoW players on US and EU servers. The breakdown is approximately 108,000 on US servers and 107,000 on EU servers

who is we and what data did you obtain and how did you obtain it?
