If you do legendary gear in War Within, please do this instead

Instead of a low RNG drop that classes are balanced around that they may never see; make it a long quest chain that everyone has access to the moment the raid opens.

My guild has gone almost the entire tier without seeing a legendary till last week when we got one finally. Tier before that we saw only one evoker legendary and we got it the week before the next tier went live.

It felt bad to go almost the entire last two tiers without seeing them, and instead just make them a quest chain. Make it available. Do something other than a ridiculously low drop chance. Look at the MoP and BFA cloaks instead, the WoD rings. Do what you did with those instead.

A quest, yes. But not this. This will make people feel obligated to get it for the raid, and the raid to be balanced around the idea that people will have it. It should be one you can start after you’ve finished the raid. It should make you feel overpowered, not just good enough.

Well, unless you can get the quest from the start and then the parts come from the raid. So you can progress it with the raid, but not complete it until you finish the raid. That’d work.

Youre still going to have people complain one way or another.

I couldnt log on this week and now im behind and I’ll never be able to catch up. My class is " LITERALLY " unplayable. Its designed for the no lifers. Blizzard is the reason i got held back in the third grade

Bfa cloak upgrade system with the visions was the worst system ever.

What about just no legendaries?

Or just have it be a boring legendary, like a ring or necklace so there’s no transmog incentive, that has an obscenely low drop chance but can drop from any mob in the game.

Tbh I think having the BLP tokens made it worse psychologically.

I’d just have them be RNG, low chance, and no BLP.

Make them rare to see.

Rather they just keep it blatantly OP, as a drop off final mythic raid boss, and let it be “legendary” without making everyone feel they’re supposed to get it.

Ion shouldn’t of lied when he said no more legendaries. He knows there bad for the game but brought them back. It’s amusing watching people get mad at legendaries again.

This is a bad excuse as it is easily rectifiable and such a solution Blizzard has and keeps reusing with their capped and expanding maximum resources. You miss a week? You can farm extra or do whatever to catch up to the current cap in the week(s) after.

Stupid RNG legendaries in the day and age of a hyper competitive and data-driven game and playerbase is the epitome of bad design. There is no reason the BLP can’t be a visible buff giving a player the actual stated increase of odds or even a thing where everyone whose spec is eligible gets the base item and has a variable time sink cost of working towards completing it with higher difficulty tiers providing more to this “fill the bar” type of quest.

My group never saw an evoker legendary nor have any of us plate characters even got to start the quest for the axe and interest is all but gone at this point. Heck most of us are at the tippy top of our gear chases and just chasing fractions of a percent drops at this point.

Honestly I’d rather play in a world where they don’t exist. Either your class is tuned with their existence in mind and thus is inherently weaker without it or you are so bonkers OP with it you otherwise “have” to have it or are objectively just weaker otherwise. If they have to exist, I’d rather see them be expansion features we build and grow over the course of the expansion and the difficulty levels of the content you do dictate their overall strength and quality relative to another player. I don’t care if a no life mythic raiding tryhard has a “better” one than me so long as the one I get is better than what Johnny McCasual whose peaking at LFR and world quests…or make them all equal and I won’t care then either.

make them be crafted like in shadowlands. i don’t understand why they did not do this when they introduced a brand spanking new crafting system. failing that i’d prefer the questline type legos rather than the x% drop ones. since they’d be obtained through a questline where you are guaranteed to get it over a certain period of time, it wouldn’t have to be tuned to be super strong to where you feel like you absolutely need it.

You must be newer to WoW eh? Theyve had if set to X amount a week. No more but definitely less. Missing a week or a day setting you behind by however much you missed

I pulled a random top tank (in English) blood DK parse and Augury trinket did significantly more damage than the legendary.

Maybe they are actually “balanced” around Augury instead??

Nah make it RNG on top of RNG and more RNG

You mean, like farming both halves of Thunderfury? Only this time, there’s an additional component which has a chance to drop if you destroy one of pieces, so if you mess it up, you start back at square one?

you cant really do that cause trinkets are always like this. the only gear that really matters is trinkets and a weapon, everything else is either tier for the set bonus or stats

if they do legendary equipment. make it so much extra rng. make it random drop that randomly drops from a random raid off a random boss on a random day during a random hour only.

Rather have no legendary at all than this current situation most of us are in!

Just don’t do legendary gear in their first place.

If you make it rare, it feels frustrating to not have one, or worse in the case of Legion, have the wrong one.

If you make them common, the expectation is that they’re part of your character power and thus become pseudo-attunements and getting them becomes an annoying part of your characters gearing process.

I vote for bringing back a contested zone and having to fight for a world boss like how thunder fury worked. The more drama the better.

If one or two people get it per server I’d die laughing.
