If you could create a new spec for your class - what would it be?

There are no wrong answers - just a fun speculation thread. Go wild.

But mom, how come malfurryon gets 4 specs?

I want a ranged spec for rogues - the Hitman spec.
Class fantasy and abilities would around medieval long-distance assassination techniques using crossbows / pistols / blowdarts / throwing knives and various grenades / explosives.

The Hitman would dual wield 2 ranged weapons - sort of like the demon hunter from Diablo III. They would have high mobility and less range than your average ranged class like hunters and casters.

Same same… but different!

I’m going to go ahead and wrap the noose around my neck. Tinker spec for the hunter class. Turrets, robots and plenty of guns as well as devices for supporting the team obviously a damage spec. A second one I have in mind that is a bit more original would be an artillerist which would use a shoulder mounted cannon that’s all about area damage and can use a variety of ammunition types including stuff that can heal or even shield others. That would leave it open for being a possible healing spec.

Bow/crossbow Paladin. No real particular reason other than finding the idea of a Holy Archer to be interesting.

My problem with that is… I don’t really see the fantasy trope around an engineer/tinkerer who hunts wild game in the woods. But could be cool!

A healing spec for warlock based around draining life from your enemies and funneling it in to your allies.

Yes its like disc priest but i want to heal and warlocks already do this to heal themselves and their demons.
So why not make a spec out of it.

You already know what I’m going to say.

Definitely a similar case for Rogues but I want them more to be like Demon Hunters from Diablo 3. Fast, nimble, and rapid firing which really is what Rogues are all about. We just need a RANGE physical spec, not another magical one. Not a major complaint but why bother giving Rogues a ability to equip something that they have no abilities for? Same for Warriors, they could get away with it but they’re more tricky in that manner.

I keep repeating that Sub rogue, being a dark mage already should be reworked into ranged Dark Ranger spec, or a shadow hunter, doesn’t matter. For how long only hunters will use bows/rifles in this game

Sub is clunky mess anyway, only special people actually like it

Blade master
Leather wearing, 2h sword, spectral clones, stealth warrior. Make the class no be able to equip a chest piece and have it be a passive that they gain something from not wearing a shirt.

You have a point. Well from what I’m looking at with what I just updated on the comment I’m asking for two new classes instead of specs. Task failed successfully I suppose.

Yes. Blademaster! Mirror image, whirlwind, omnislash!

Melee DPS Evoker. Because we must never have a mail tank class.

Chi-Archer.

Mid ranged, mobile archer that uses arrows infused with chi.

Also, I notice in this thread that people seem to really want another spec to use bows outside of Hunter.

At this point it’s a cliche to parrot; but big tanky dracanoid knight when?

DPS range using Holy damage.
A mix between Discipline and Holy.

It would only be necessary to increase the damage of several spells, especially Holy Nova.
And add one or two CDs.

In 10.0.5 Holy Fire becomes AoE damage.
Holy Nova could extend its duration or also spread Holy Fire to other enemies and Penance could do increased damage to all victims with Holy Fire.
Smite as filler.

Holy Word Chastise could take Power Word Death’s place.

Arms warrior with a pet with kill command and pet heal.

That pet can only be a Gnome though.

That makes sense to me. Right now hunters are the only class that is physical ranged and that kind of sucks. By physical I mean Using a firearm, crossbow, or bow. Shooting hot balls of energy from your mouth is something else entirely.
