Dear DPS,
If you want a faster pace, just speak up. If you want full control over the pulls and the pacing of a dungeon, then roll a tank.
I constantly hear talk about “knowing your role,” so here’s the truth: if you’re DPSing, let the tank pull. There are plenty of reasons for this, and it’s not just about etiquette—it’s about letting everyone do their job effectively. If that doesn’t sit well with you, feel free to exit the dungeon.
If you keep pulling mobs, don’t be surprised if the tank decides to let you die and I hope the healer does the same. And don’t act shocked if you get kicked by a vote.
You’ve got other options: run with your guild, group up with friends, or find something else that satisfies your need for control. Just do us all a favor—stay out of PUGs if you can’t respect the roles.

letting impatient dps die is SOP.

you spank it, you tank it.

It’s ok for tanks to complain dps doing low dps, but it’s not ok for dps to complain tanks doing chicken pulls. Double standard is fine as long as it fits your naratives.
They literally said if you want a faster pace say so, not that tanks can’t be criticized for small pulls.

You can’t have slow pace with big pulls. They wanted faster pace because he pulled too slow and too small, the whole party might have fallen asleep.
Sounds like someone has a sore spot.

Now, let me clarify something: this post isn’t about DPS not pulling their weight. It’s about allowing tanks to do their job. If your tank isn’t pulling at the pace you prefer, the solution is simple—communicate. A good tank often has a method to their madness. They might be considering the healer’s mana, the group’s cooldowns, or even setting up pulls to optimize their own rotation.
I’ve seen this happen countless times… and let me be clear, I’m not calling out all DPS here. This is aimed at the impatient players who start pulling mobs like everyone else is there to follow their schedule. Those are the players we need to start voting out. If you’re that person and you think you know best, then either talk to the tank or go queue as one yourself.
The reality is, dungeons are a team effort. If everyone sticks to their role, runs go smoother, and they’re more enjoyable for everyone involved. If you can’t respect that, maybe it’s time to rethink your approach—or just stick to solo content where you can pull at whatever pace you want.
Bottom line: if you’re not the tank, let the tank do the tanking.
