The OP is trying to sacrifice the player experience in order to combat bots. If we’re fine with making the game objectively worse to stop bots, why half-measures? Just turn the servers off and get all the bots.
I already suggested a 50 limit per 24 hour limit on canceling and people didn’t like that.
You understand that cancelscanning keeps prices down on the AH, right? like, inflation would be rampant without it.
of course some dont like it. Doesnt mean its not the best way to handle the problem.
When Im running the AH Im cancel scanning a few times a minute lol…and if this is a problem then the solution is to limit how many times we can do it.
Auctions should be locked for the duration of the posting. I.e, you list for 12 hours, you cannot cancel it.
There is no need to stress yourself. Like I said before bots have been playing WoW longer than you.
The game ALREADY throttles cancels above 50 per toon in a one-hour period, by the way.
As someone who abuses the hades out of the cancel scan…I 100% agree
Ah no, not, bad idea is bad. Attempting to address one issue by creating another makes zero sense.
I like your reasoning but no thanks
Breh we legit have EZ mine nodes in the game ostensibly for this exact purpose but all they do is inconvenience ignorant players and add yields to experienced players and advanced bots.
They aren’t sacrificing the player experience to combat bots. They’re mostly sacrificing it to keep botters replacing hardware and coming back.
sure lets punish players with a bad mouse and make the miss a extra number
or having the players logging off and not paying attention.
i have a better idea if you buy an item it becomes bop so no more reselling
I always wished all loot was “Bind to Account”, unless crafted to sell. Prevents all the non-sense and the gold inflation.
Those are legit the fastest mining speed nodes with the best overload, and bonus engineering scrap. They might also kill bots on occasion but they are certainly not degrading the experience.
a couple hour timer to relist after a cancellation would be nice, put an end to the auction barons that continuously pull and undercut everything.
The new bruto mount has made reporting AH bots hard to do. All that a bot needs to do is go to Freehold dungeon and mount up. The new bruto mount has a mailbox. Whereas the OG Bruto you still had to sit in front of a mailbox to bot.
Id like to point out that a blue a while back indicated that theyve looked at AH activity and its not as much rule breaking as some might want to believe.
We can call it bots, but its more than likely just players who are cancel scanning all day long, not bots.
ok guys, i’ve read your ideas on how to stop bots via auction house regulation and i have a wild idea for everyone.
please just hear me out:
how about this? blizzard enforces their game ToS better and bots then cease to exist entirely?
I thought Blizz fired most of their GMs so that Bobby could buy his 65th yacht?
That will be a solid Nope from me.
