Yea but they’ve been around longer than snake men that just pop out of nowhere.
Vulpera and Mechagnomes popped up out of nowhere too and were added in the same xpac. I don’t believe we had any lore about Highmountain Tauren, Nightborne, Void Elves, or Lightforged before they were introduced in Legion either.
Lore-wise, the Sethrak empire is tens of thousands of years old, and they have had varying states of difficulty with the zandalari, but sadly not much dealing with the rest of the world. BFA is changing that and hopefully we’ll see more lore in Shadowlands that will support their movement into the world as well.
Either way, you ask ‘how will they fit in’ and my answer is: We’ll make them fit 
The lore is there, their presence is there, all we need is for Blizzard to pull the trigger and give them to us.

We had some hints of the Vulpera very early in BFAs journey, the mechagnomes less so but their environmental footprint is there.
You would have to do something very creative with the snake people as I believe their culture favors slavery.
Well, already we have a difference between the Devoted that follow the Loa Sethraliss (the allies we work with as both the Alliance and Horde) and the Faithless that are effectively imperial expansionists. It would be very easy for Blizzard to say that the ones we play are those Devoted (or other Sethrak that don’t believe in the Faithless cause). I think that’s a point many people gloss over. Yes, the Sethrak are a common NPC enemy, but they also have a small base and we work with them to try to stop the Faithless from breaking the seals to release an agent of the old gods.
The biggest problem with the story in Vol’dun is that it feels -incomplete-. That’s another thing that tends to get glossed over. In the game, we fail to stop the Faithless and the old god creature is release to destroy the seals and release another old god creature. But… then what? The fight between the Devoted and Faithless simply remains ongoing ad infinitum. We need a resolution there, and a good way to do that would be for the Devoted to reach out to the Horde or Alliance and join up with them. This could easily be explained in an allied-race quest-line, like you do for any of the current allied races.
It would provide a bit of closure for the story, explain how the Sethrak join the A or the H, and then it’s in our hands.

What I’m worried about, is Sethrak will be left behind like so many missed opportunities, Tuskarr, Jinyu, Hozen, Ankoan, Ogres (which we were suppose to get in Cataclysm then switched to Goblins)…
Blizzard seems to just leave them behind and forget about it.
I remember when Vulpera and Sethrak were both datamined with Heart of Azeroth animations, I got so excited, we still got Vulpera but they full 360’d Sethrak and gave Mechagnomes, which I didn’t mind if Sethrak still came… but as every week passes I feel like it’s going to be a pipe dream like the rest of the races left and not forgotten

There is good news, and that is that the Sethrak have a presence in Shadowlands, in Maldraxus specifically according to some datamining and such. So, at least in that regard, the Sethrak aren’t completely forgotten!
