If you are angry with the way Classic is going

Just go back to retail for a short while ya know. Just live it up for a little while and forget your classic woes. Do some mythic dungeons. Go find you a few more mounts for your collection. Buy some gold!!

Go to stranglethorn vale and… look for some lowbies to gank. You won’t find any, but it remind you of how you used to gank people there. Go to Ironforge, you’ll see possibly 3 to 4 people there on a merged server the size of a battlegroup. Just take it in maan.

Here is what has pissed me off about Classic and how it was implemented.

The Devs or powers that be have been talking out of both sides of their mouth… They have done some things to " preserve the vanilla experience" however they have changed a LOT of stuff which has done exactly the opposite.

It is so annoying to see them delay BG’s (the only reason I want to play classic) because that is how it was done in vanilla. Why arbitrarily choose that aspect to preserve when they have tossed out so much of vanilla? Why dont mages only conjure 2 waters per cast Like it was in vanilla? Aren’t they losing out on the experience of having to conjure water for an hour before a raid ?

And the most annoying things to preserve was spell batching… how stupid.

An analogy would be Chevy offering a new Classic stingray. No one wants an 8 track and the old engine and crappy suspension in the damned thing, they just want the body style.

What blizzard has done is force the 8 track upon us and not had the courtesy to put in shoulder straps even though they changed the style of the interior. Because you know " we want to preserve the classic stingray experience" … Well then why did you change the interior?

You’ve got a good point there. I see if you wanted a rebuilt version or “remake” of the classic 1965 stingray, you could buy it for the sweet body style. However it’s not worth NEARLY the amount of money as a mint condition, 1965 stingray, regardless of what’s in the radio. They don’t even use the same materials in the body as they once did.

Same thing with guitars right? You want a 1960 Gibson Les Paul, but you don’t want to pay for an original so you pay 1500$ for the rebuild. It’s a cheapened version.

People want the classic. Not the rebuild. You’d see an old man driving the rebuilt version down the interstate with a smile on his face on a sunny day, but then he see’s the real 1965 version. And he feels guilt. He knows deep down what he really wants and he’s ashamed he bought the new one.

Balbazak,

Taking the analogy a bit far… The point is that people want one or the other… not a bastardized version that insist on saving bad traits for the sake of nostailgia. IOW they want a TRUE 100% classic representation OR They want a MODERN version that looks like the classic, but is improved (for the car analogy, a modern engine/transmission, suspension, interior, safety features)

When Blizzard chose to bastardize Classic, they should have taken a step back and made changes that would be best for the overall experience. Having BG’s from the beginning for example.

If they didn’t want to do that, they should have left EVERYTHING the same as it was in vanilla… even the bugs… and rolled out the patches/changes on the same schedule. But they have decided to pick and choose and are doing a bad job at it.

Yea but, that’s you’re opinion man. I mean, I think they are doing a good job. They’ve done some things I don’t agree with but… people are obviously still happy and playing the game.

I never said that I don’t like classic or that it is bad. I would say overall I have been having a good time. That doesn’t erase the fact that mistakes have been made and it could have been better.

The big mistake IMHO is not having BG’s from day 1… It served no purpose. If people didn’t want to do them, no one would have forced them to Q. More people would have been able to play the way they want to… .But you know what… by not including them, they have not only forced people to play in ways they dont want to (dungeons for months for gear, forced specs ECT) but have created a scenario that has pissed a lot of people off with the world honor farming.

I am pissed about wPVP honor farming and I am horde on a horde dominated server… It isnt fun to have 5 people jump into my fights. I have tried and tried to go and find good fights while solo… and well, wherever the alliance will be, there are packs of horde waiting around to get in on the honor. That is NOT fun.

I do feel bad for the alliance. I have also seen a drastic reduction in how many alliance are even attempting to get into BRM. A lot of people just say " your fault for rolling PVP server… I dont think that is fair to say at all… I think balanced populations are a reasonable thing to expect in a game like this.

Noo noo no that’s cool. Look brotha I understand. I get it. AND I agree with you I DESPISE when people come about trying to kill my target. But at the same time this is the decision they made, and the game is the game. I’m not going to try to change it, I’m just gonna play it.

Classic is Classic bro, let it be ya know. Just enjoy it

BG’s should have been released from the get go.

How could they be so short sighted when they knew the servers were so packed? They could have easily patched them in a month after launch once they realized what was up.

Also the phases annoy me, artificially stalling the game for what reason? The least they could have done was released mana oil and things like that. There’s so much confusing stuff with this game.

I just feel like it’s not a good philosophy to try to encourage blizzard to change things on a massive level such as playing with server pops and then go about acting like it’s not a big deal!
