If WoW were setup like FFXIV

Ohhh yeah that’s right.

Again, that’s not at all what I’m saying, and I can’t be bothered reiterating again.

But that’s my mistake, I should’ve read the previous comments and seen that you simply came to this forum to bash WoW and praise FF14.

Go play classic. That’s how wow was in its golden age - a journey to the end game that took a lot of time and effort, but still felt awesome. You got to fell like you were in the world of warcraft. THAT was an RPG.
Getting to the end game shouldn’t be quick, and not being quick doesn’t mean it’s necessarily painful. To think otherwise should mean that an RPG isn’t for you. The fun in an MMORPG is not only at the end game - unless said MMO has a ridiculously soulless and boring leveling up experience, like retail wow.

The FFXIV community is honest - we like RPGs, we like a good story, and we like the journey our character goes through, and the fact that it is long is actually a perk. Can’t wait for them to add even more great stuff and make it even longer.

Your post reeks of someone who dislikes RPGs but is still playing wow for some reason. Wow didn’t use to cater to people like you, and it was better back then.

Actually no. The barber shop in FFXIV only costs 2000 gil. If you want to change your race or more permanent things like your face shape or eye color, etc. then yes you have to buy a recustomization if you already used the free one you get for completing the 2.0 story.

This is true. All new accounts have to level up through BFA before they are allowed to access any other content.

I think it’s a strong possibility that they will make the Hydaelyn and Zodiark storyline optional after 6.0. Once that 1st narrative is ended, there is so much too it, and with newgame+ to experience it, there isn’t really a good reason to continue to make all new players go through it, at least if the 6.1 story starts off in a way that doesn’t require lots of knowledge of the previous story.

Because the systems are not fun in the slightest.

I don’t want to do the story again. Don’t make me do ARR a third time. Please, I’ll be a good boy.

Why would you have to do ARR more than once?

Second time to join my friend’s sister on her sever to join her free company. Did not want to pay to bring my other character to the server. Sure, the second time was when they patched out a lot of the filler content, but it was still tedious and boring. Not as mind numbingly boring as the first time, but still a drag.

OH NO! lol
GL though!

Finished leveling a month or two ago. Just burnt out of FFXIV. Can only do the safety dance in a raid and run Palace of the dead before you realize you’re out of videos to podcast, you’re developing carpal tunnel, and you rather be doing something else other than logging on to get tomes to gear a job you might not play.

What an odd way to spend your time. Then again so is me replying to this. We should both stop.

doing story quests - uhhh we already do that in WoW more then half the time it’s BORING as :poop:

Fetch quests - We already do that in WoW a LOT of it.

Timegated content - again WoW has it and loads of it.

Cheeky paid boosts - WoW has um. called character paid boosts my friend ontop of that WoW players also sell paid boosts via gold for M+, Raiding, AND get this. PvP…

Fun part of any mmo - oh something WoW doesn’t have. carry on.

WoW community “honest” - good joke.

im not even play ff14 and im having to point out all the things wrong with this that you claim is good. there is a reason why that the only WoW killer will be Activision/Blizzard. you look at all the dumb sh&^ they have done over the years to this game. it’s only getting worse.

want my honest 2c on 9.1? they likely pushed it out early cause they scared of ff14 as so many wow players have moved there for now and yes even streamers. not for good but for now at least. gonna bet it’s just as dog sh*& how long we waited for it to release.

hell company can’t even properly communicate with it’s community. what you scared or something?

It’s lvl 70 in ff14 80 is capped

Yes, that’s what I said.

Ok ya I did not word it right when I reply the 1st time my bad

That’s what I’m hoping for as well. And honestly I kind of wish more MMOs would do that. Big old arc, then a smaller one, then maybe even episodic expansions, etc., so new players aren’t increasingly held back. The “resets” can be a hell of a selling point, too.

I’ve played since '04 mate, but carry on.

If you played since launch you would’ve known that since the beginning and for several years it took hundreds of hours to reach the end game. You would’ve known that there wasn’t a “freaking uproar” over it. You would’ve known that the “fun part” wasn’t only at the end game.
But yeah, you totally didn’t know those things and you played through what you would apparently consider a “slow and painful leveling process”.
