If WoW had an ending already, which expansion do you think would have been the best ending?

My vote would be for Shadowlands. We all got to see the beginning and end of life (in the WoW universe) and the Sylvanus storyline was finally wrapped up.

Which expansion do you think has had the best WoW ending so far?

Legion, without a doubt. Take out the part of the ending involving Silithus, and make minor edits, and the Warcraft story could have potentially ended there I think.

I do feel if it were to have an ending Shadowlands would be it.

Alternatively WoTLK also was a good potential ‘ending’ expansion because it wrapped up the story for a lot of Warcraft 3. BC/WoTLK rode significantly on the coattails of the game.

Last but not least Legion could have also been a good ending due to the fighting with the pantheon and all that.

Shadowlands. When the Jailer goes down he laughs and tells us it was all a ruse to draw Azeroth’s greatest heroes away. It’s too late by then. The Shadowlands was all just an illusion to trap us.

Cata. Deathwing was the OG big bad working in the shadows to bring his goals to fruition. Vanilla, TBC and WOTLK all hinted to him and he’s really the final boss of the OG warcraft series imo.

Three best end points (on the assumption of a sequel game or wc4) would be Wrath, MoP and Legion.

Best point to stop the game entirely storywise? Wrath. Arthas is just that good.

Should have ended with Legion, but with the writing leading up to and including it being better done.

Had the most powerful villain in the franchise about to eff us up then he gets deus ex machina’d into a jail by emo elf with puppy love syndrome and a couple of inferior titans. Not to mention how badly many characters on the journey were treated by the writers.

Legion could’ve been like 3 or 4 parts in all honesty. The Emerald Nightmare for example was done very poorly, it’s a threat that could’ve been an entire expansion.

And don’t even get me started on Argus, in the old cata well of eternity dungeon hundreds of demons are pouring from the palace. On Argus the army is nonexistent and is a joke.

Legion has gathered all the notable NPCs, all the artifacts, all the loose ends and villains all the classes - everything. It was great.

It was like an Endgame. And now we’re in phase4
