If we’re going to be fixing bugs, even those that were present during WotLK (Munching on Ignite & Deep Wounds), we should, by this same logic, see a fix to Dancing Rune Weapon which would, according to Sim Data, revolutionize Blood DPS. It’s only fair.
blood dps? blood is the tanking spec, if you want to dps then go unholy or frost. you don’t see people taking prot pallies/warriors or bears for their damage, they bring them to tank
Blood spent most of WotLK as a strong DPS spec. You did not play OG Wrath.
We’re already fixing bugs that existed during WotLK, thus DRW is entitled to a fix.

All 3 dk specs were designed to do both roles in wrath, blood didn’t become a pure tank spec until later. They should fix DRW at the very least since it’s bugged to the point of uselessness for both roles anyway.
They should fix it because it’s bugged, statement ends there. It’s not even close to being useless and is better than a few 51 points talents, even while bugged. It does about 1/3 the damage (if glyphed) of a properly utilized Gargoyle but also has 1/2 the CD.
It won’t be gamebreaking if they fix it, so they should.
Or change the final talent on the tree to be tank-oriented like the other tank specs have. The problem is they kept DRW as a dps talent for a tank tree and that’s why it’s useless. Maybe have it double the class parry bonus for the duration in addition to the dps increase? So it’s 50% of strength instead of 25% for 12 seconds?

Been posting about this for a while now. Given that other things are getting buffs, this talent could sure use one too. It’s so awful no one ever slots it, regardless of what role they’re doing. The dodge fix was a golden opportunity to buff DRW to give some protection back for blood tanks. But even if it’s strictly damage, it’s not worth slotting because you get practically none for your talent point and power cost. The gargoyle by comparison is so much better they had to nerf it. One of my DK builds is blood. I tank and do BGs on it. I’m 50/11/10. DRW is so bad I wouldn’t imagine taking that over lichborne or morbidity.

Except I know exactly what I’m talking about it, and actually called you out with logs. Furthermore, ALL logs reflect what I say. You’d be hard pressed to find ANY DKs with DRW at 80. Going to block again now and not respond to anymore of these.
According to sims, which I referenced in the OP, if DRW were fixed and worked as intended, Blood DPS would be the highest Single Target DK DPS spec, fwiw.

Drain, we know you don’t look at logs and can’t seem to comprehend them. I have 0 Unholy logs and 1-2 Frost logs out of 12, depending on boss. You live in your own little bubble where you have your own terrible little spec that you do battlegrounds and tank 5 mans with, okay, that’s great man. Ok Speaking from somebody that has been playing the game Sense 2004 The original dk Trees were an absolute mess.
Yes technically blood was a good dps Now if it’s a bug fix By all means I say fix it However I do not think They need to buff Unholy and Frost Are already strong.
And let’s be real here 4 1 Minute out of all the trees blood Has way more stuff for tanking than the other 2 That’s just a fact Yes you are correct blood was A solid dps for a little bit naxx Ulduar is Where I remember them falling off.
And most of the time they were used as tanks after that The other 2 just didn’t have Enough survivability tools to make Them a viable tank.
Now if a real We’re going to do some changes I would like to see Them move the other tinking stuff Two blood If anything But honestly I think that would just become a little bit too messy.

But either way, Blood remained strong, benefitted most from Shadowmourne, and would be doing the highest single target DPS for DK Specs assuming Dancing Rune Weapon gets the various bugs fixed.
You’re a liar and this is a lie. My DPS Blood DK named Mcgroobin has 0 Unholy logs and 1-2 Frost logs per boss in Ulduar out of 12 clears. You can look at any of the logs with the Runestrike icon and you’ll see me using DRW and Heart Strike.

Blizzard’s initial logic for holding off from Paladin Buffs was the exact same as yours. They literally said in an interview that they were opposed to buffing Ret Paladins because: “Paladins had two other very strong specs.” They eventually changed their mind on this issue, but it was the same logic you’re giving, and trying to draw a distinction between the two is just special pleading.

Yeah protection is strong as tank Holy is strong as,a heler NOT DPS On top of the fact blood in The second best tank in the game and the best single target threat.
So again I say no they are not the same thing by any stretch o and It is easier for a frost/Unholy Death Night To kind of be that kind of tank kind of dps Because unholy and frost Have taking elements and tinking utility And The threat multiplier on icy touch.
