If we do get a new race soon I hope its something outside the box. None of the allied races have been very hype imo. A real “and the crowd goes mild” vibe.

I know people want to see tuskar, murlock, san’layn, etc

I mean, it is totally subjective. Everyone has different tastes.

That said, most allied races seem to just be designed to give each faction a similar character model. I think it was their attempt pre letting cross faction play to balance the factions. So for night elf models/rigging/skeleton the Horde received nightborne, and the Alliance received void elves etc.

I do think neutral races are kind of boring, but that is only my opinion.

If we’re getting an allied race in TWW, it will probably be haranir. They will probably be neutral too, who knows.

Allied Races in general are by default disappointing.

They’re things that should be added to the customization of the core race they’re based on but Blizzard decided when they were advertising BfA that they wanted it as a bigger selling point on the box so now its its own feature instead of just expanded customization.

  • Draenei - Lightforged Draenei
  • Tauren - Highmountain Tauren
  • Dwarf - Dark Iron Dwarf - Earthen
  • Night Elf - Nightborn
  • Blood Elf - Void Elf
  • Goblin - Vulpera (kind of, this is really the only one that’s iffy, though it’s obvious they share a skeleton).
  • Human - Kul Tiran Human
  • Gnome - Mechagnome
  • Troll - Zandalari Troll

It’s all silly.

Some of them are faction swaps, so it’s a bit awkward, but come on, these are all the same things.

Grey Draenei with new hairstyles.
Tauren with antlers instead of horns.
Dwarves with a different skin color + Rock Dwarves.
Night Elves but addicts.
Blood Elves but a lil crazy.
Fat Humans.
Gnomes who decided some Chrome is better than Flesh.
Trolls who went to a chiropractor.

I didn’t list them cuz all the San’layn we see are from Quel’Thalas, but yes, the Dark Ranger skins are on Night Elves too.

Fair enough. I guess I lumped them in with darkfallen since they can be role played that way if a player chooses to use their imagination.

Dark warden would be cool if they added a darker toned warden set with the other trading post ones. :dracthyr_cry_animated:

Allied races should have just been character customization options, not actual separate races.

You’re not going to convince me that Man’ari eredar are simply a customization for draenei but Lightforged are somehow deserving of being their own separate race.

Both factions spend decades wiping them out on a daily basis. I am sure they would be eager to join up.

Honestly just a non-bipedal race would be cool. I remember way back when BC was coming out Metzen said he wanted naga to eventually be playable. I’d love to play a naga.

Given their upcoming plotline, I am guessing that is a long shot. Unless Azshara decides to 180… again.
