I’m actually not opposed to there being some number of PvP servers. I’ve said that no fewer than a half dozen times in this thread by now.
But the people you need to convince that the evils of the past with PVP servers won’t plague a new incarnation of it just see you deflecting and avoiding those criticisms. PVP servers have massive potential flaws, flaws so severe Blizzard decided to remove them entirely. To just brush off anyone who shines a spotlight on those flaws does your argument far more harm than good.
If you truly want to have PVP servers come back, dismissing anyone who joined one because they wanted to play with friends who were already there is not a good strategy. Acting like it’s obvious how war mode isn’t the same as PVP servers save for ganking is not a good strategy. Acting like low level and outnumbered players weren’t having their play time dictated by other people for hours on end is not a good strategy.
If your goal is to farm like from your echo chamber, this might be a good strategy. If your goal is to get PVP servers back, pushing away anyone who might be more neutral on the idea is a terrible idea.
Admittedly I kind of miss worrying about danger everywhere. Feeling unsafe outside of city walls, you never knew what could happen.
It actually encouraged me to get good at PVP. Back when I cared for it. I should get into it again some time.

Yeah most retail players don’t really care about it unfortunately. Classic has a decent community because pvp exists there
I played WoW since launch and yeah on a PvP realm. Until I got sick of that mid TBC and switched. Never looked back.
I could now start the old song of “PvP on a PvPrealm is just higher leveled or higher geared people griefing lower players for funsies”, but that would only be half the truth. Leveling up on PvP was for the most part, trash. The PvP was trash.
However that would only be half of the story. There was plenty of great PvP to be had, when you ran to the Dungeon or Raid and your group hit another group there. Or the whole Tarren Mill gameplay, which often was really good and fun.
WoW’s PvP was good if done in a group VS group.
I do not see anything wrong with one PvP server. I like options, even if most players probably not use it, there is nothing wrong with having that one option, is there?

The sudden, arbitrary and imaginary need to get rid of server classifications… Yet another change for its own sake, leading to the opposite of the desired outcome, and the ruination of the MMO aspects of the game.
What a surprise…
One might even suspect there could be an unproductive pattern here, and a failure to admit and backtrack on it!
