Like I’ve said, I’m all for PVP servers to return now that players can make a more informed decision on what that means than all the way back in 2004 where nobody could really know what the experience could become. I just don’t think it’s a compelling argument to say that a single PVP would be the most popular server by a country mile because that seems like such an obvious outcome.
One day will get it back, and I will be ready for some pvp one server no sharding, the absolute chaos of wpvp it will be amazing
that is not how pvp servers work. factions always take them over and there is no rally. then people stop logging in or change their faction and pvp dies. Everything you claimed can be done in warmode.

you can say the exact same thing for warmode; in fact warmode is a pvp server. I am not sure why anyone would think its not.
I really hope so. But it’s not looking likely. All we have going is a few forums. I doubt blizzard even notices that we want it.
Warmode will phase you in in totally empty zones. It is not a community as you won’t meet much the same people again. You can blame sharding for most of it. Being able to turn pvp off and on is also not the same gameplay overall, if you kill someone they should have a fair chance to kill you back even weeks later.

War Mode isn’t even close to the same as a PVP server. My problem with it, is that you can be leveling on your alt w/ WM on for the faster leveling, have someone camp you, but when you log on your main to come kill them you’re in another phase/layer and will never find them…how fun is that? I would love if blizzard made a pvp server w/o layering just like the old classic servers

Players who don’t use war mode don’t understand how different it really is than a true pvp server, probably because they don’t use it enough to see the differences. I also have been phased in to zones with either no players or 30 alliance and 3 horde. Camping is actually worse in war mode because of you get set to the wrong phase/shard you are really in trouble because you have nobody to help you and your only option is to go back to a capital city to turn it off and on again and hope for better days.

It always amazes me the pushback these threads get from people who don’t PvP.
If you don’t like PvP servers then don’t roll on one, there is literally no downside to Blizzard adding a PvP server.
My thoughts too. It’s like they think to themselves “I don’t like pvp so others should not be able to enjoy it either”

Exactly! Look at every private server there is, nothing but max geared gankers
Ganking doesn’t exist anymore, everyone uses group finder and gets to max level in a week
We just don’t think they should waste their time to make one. Especially when you’ll be back months later realizing that there’s no one for you to Gank. Everyone will roll on the faction that’s dominant(in most cases that’s been Horde) and then there’ll be no one left and it becomes a pve server. Classic exist for a reason go there!
You’re arguing against yourself saying pvp servers work in classic, which they do. I play on retail, classic grob, and lone wolf on seasons. And they all work great (except retail). And I don’t go around looking for people to gank, not many pvp players do. And for the small amount that do, 75% of the players base is max level already. And again, you can level an alt to max in probably 5 days in retail.
You mentioning classic is a perfect example of why retail SHOULD have a pvp server. So thanks I guess
And if your reason for not wanting a pvp server is your uncontrollable fear of getting ganked and dying, don’t join it.

PvP doesn’t work in classic at all. lol even in streamer lobbies we’re seeing obvious faction imbalance. Alliance in SOD raid group. Horde having like 4. That’s a load of bull!

How would you know if you’re so against them? I know because I actually play in them. Go look at the population balance. SOD has balanced servers, and wotlk does as well. In fact, grob is almost a perfect 50/50 balance.
PVP server where it’s just Horde vs Alliance again: i sleep
PVP server where everyone else is hostile: meow we’re talking
Exception that proves the rule. All the PVP servers people tend to congregate on are dominated by one side. Most servers in general really, even outside of PVP. Like Stormrage and Proudmoore being majority Alliance.
This right here, give me a reason to come back to retail. Give me a piece of the pie that I supported since TBC. Wow went in a direction I just can’t support since it’s nothing I enjoy. I feel I check out every new xpack to just walk away disappointed. It’s gone down this rabbit hole ever since Legion once world defense was broken and right after that “Warmode” was added in BFA (Which baited pvpers to come back due to the cinematic but was a spit in our face). Which btw Warmode is a joke and anyone who defends it truly has no clue what was good about the old school wpvp. Blizzard needs to remember it wasn’t only pve players that built this mmo years ago. The pvpers that are left are playing Classic and for very good reasons. It exists and they actually make content for it in SoD.
The PvE community has time and time again talked down on the pvpers wants and they was catered to the most. It shows simply look how entitled pvers opinions are when we’re asking for something for US and nothing else but that. NOT YOU as a PvE player. YOU DO YOU. This is for those that do enjoy pvp. Go talk about mythic dungeons or something that’s relevant to YOU.
Why do you think SoD pvp servers are flourishing atm? Retail couldn’t add a lead pvp dev team and give any care about it. THIS IS WHY. You think I would prefer playing graphics from 2004 over current retail? Give me a break. It’s our only option or we play league of legends. World of Warcrafts combat has always felt fun. No other mmo replicates it either. I played them all and hated most of them.
So to the real pvpers I wish nothing but the best but in reality it’s so hard to have any faith in the wow devs let alone arguing against pve players to obtain it.

Thanks for supporting the thread. Maybe consider submitting a suggestion in the game too, under support, if you have the time. I doubt we will see any change, but it’s worth a try.
