If we could just get 1 PvP server

Then you compel me to ask, once again, what the actual difference is between a PvP server and the PvP server that I’ve suggested.

It’s been answered multiple times. Scroll up.

Since we’re repeating ourselves, why then, as a friend are you so insistent on denying your friends a possible option they’d enjoy?

Warbringer  . Also Clan Battlehammer for awhile. How about you?

I’m not. I’ve given them a PvP server to play on. A PvP server that makes it so once you log on, you’re flagged for PvP. Once you log off, you can use free character transfers on and off of the server if it’s too spicy or if you want to try again. Of course, to make sure you can’t just bring in a fully-decked titan from nowhere, you have to have created the character on the server first before you can transfer them onto it.

They get the ‘always on’ PvP experience they (and you) apparently want, without locking character progress when things invariably get stupid (entire towns getting deleted or getting repeatedly corpse-camped).

CBH was my favorite group to do some random wpvp with, don’t get me wrong I only remember winning once when I got the drop on one of, ya Warbringer…wasn’t that Jaelen’s (I think I spelled that right) guild? good guy he showed me the ropes to pvp and rp on my baby ally back in the day.

Blackrock Clan still in it today, guild is dead though. so many memories of getting some of the orc clans together and trying to raid IF and our GM Ripgut was on mic and said “Man CBH is crawling out of the dammed walls!!!” then we wiped it was glorious!!

This is why we need a pvp server. This doesn’t happen with war mode.

Not if you can just dip out. Your compromise isn’t a compromise, it’s just a disingenuous proposal.

We all get that you like WM, which is why nobody is asking to remove it. But you and/or your friends lack of self control is a poor reason to remove what could be a fun option for lot of folks. You’re no different than people arguing against the existence of follower dungeons just because people might do those instead of regular.

Finally, the mask comes off. PvP only works with captivity.

This is why PvP is so hated in this game, because PvPers can’t stand other players being capable of saying ‘not right now, thanks.’

We don’t even want to be on your server. We don’t want to play with you. So it’s not an issue if we leave for a server we want to be apart of.

But that’s not enough; you want captives on your server. ‘If you can leave, it’s not PvP.’ That’s the mindset.

Being able to have open-world PvP isn’t enough.
Being able to have constant danger isn’t enough.
Being able to have every PC you see a potential enemy isn’t enough.
Being able to have spontaneous, non-sharded PvP isn’t enough.

No. You have to have the characters captive.

The entire point of the thread is PvP players who want to not have that option to have a place just for themselves, where they’re not bothering anyone else.

Literally just saying "Hey, we know most people don’t like this, can we have 1 server for the ones who do? Everyone else gets to keep what they like. "

How do you have an issue with the people who play the way you don’t like trying to remove themselves from ever encountering you so that they can actually play the way they want??

What does it really matter though?

If pvpers want a pvp realm and get it, you would be fine you don’t want to do it so you shouldn’t. I understand wanting to play with your friends. Getting this server isn’t going to hurt you or waste your time just don’t play on it.

Because I don’t want the servers to take a step backwards and start trapping characters again. I shouldn’t have to decide whether to play with friends on a PvP server or by myself on a PvE server, and nor should they.

Regressing to PvP servers is pointless since, again, War Mode already exists and serves the exact same function without the forced captivity. Yes, sharding is an issue, but it’s an issue of its own, unrelated to War Mode.

Again, the literal only difference between the server was the ability to transfer to and from it, and that’s the dealbreaker. Everything else is 1-to-1, but the transfer, that’s what breaks everything for whatever reason.

Oh snap. Their friends must be the ones who camp lowbies, that’s gotta be why they’re so sure they’ll go.

We don’t want to hold anyone captive. If you don’t want to play on a pvp server, then don’t. It’s so simple. Obviously you would not join and I don’t think anyone cares. Stay where you are. And if your “friends” wanted to roll on it for a little pvp fun every now and then, you’re selfish for asking them not to. They should be able to do what they want, and if they think a pvp server would be better than war mode, that is their opinion and it’s valid. And nobody is asking “war mode” to go away. It can stay just as it is. We just want nothing to do with it anymore.

Then is the proposed server above acceptable? And if not, why not?

Not saying ive done it, but I know an orc who did gank a human alt of the guild

So, you all could choose to continue with WM. But you know that already, because it’s been said a bunch of times already.

Then they’re not playing on a PvP server, which is also something not-ideal.

War Mode, as well as the proposed server, allows you to play on your preferred server with your preferred ruleset with your preferred group without holding the character hostage to one playstyle or the other.

I’m curious why we’re not just asking Blizzard to do a better job assigning players into Warmode shards that are better balanced.

There was something lost once cross realm sharding was enabled, for sure. I’d tend to think the positives outweigh the negatives overall, but I agree regarding losing a certain sense of server identity and community.
