Just want to add to your points that on RPPVP servers back in the day, there was a lot of mediating that went on to make OWPVP generally pretty awesome. Yeah, you were gunna get ganked, but knowing who did it, and the guild, could see a zone wide response and retaliation. That was very organic and immersive.

Mutual respect seemed to spawn from it, too. You were in it for the love of the game and not always to dominate.

However, I really miss the occasional PvP that used to break out on my pve server. It was fun to be able to decide to flag up and help defend Auberdine.

Being unable to avoid danger is exciting, and yes, sometimes frustrating. But that’s the point.

I would love to have a pvp server again. I actually did do classic Wrath just to do pvp servers again. Im sorry but some of the best times I had vanilla to wrath was organic pvp…Personally I miss leveling in STV. If its not a shadow panther making that noise it has to be a rogue… The most backside clenching area to level. There is NO RUSH like it…I do not use war mode. It is not organic world pvp. There is no rivalry or comradery.

On Emerald Dream before Warmode, you would go out to do dailies and get hit by the horde. Instead of toggling off Warmode, you would need to call in guildmates - the horde would then escalate and do the same…The result of the above is that I had some of the best times I’ve ever had in Warcraft on PvP realms; and the community that evolved around WPvP Warfare was among the best I’ve seen in this game…there’s no environment for these players anymore. Sharded warmode / crossrealm is not it - the forcing function and local nature (not cross realm) of Emerald Dream allowed it to thrive. Warmode is neither.

I’d be willing to re roll and start all over if that was a requirement for a new pvp server…what’s one more where I would have a great time win or lose in wpvp.

Hot tips for all the detractors for WPvP realms on the thread:

1. Stop misrepresenting those arguing for WPvP realms. They aren’t trolls, they are passionate WoW players who miss a unique and wonderful experience they had on those realms.
2. A bad experience you had isn’t reason to keep this choice from other players. You can stay on your safe realms all the live long day.
3. You aren’t forced into rolling on this realm, and keeping this choice from other players because of your lack of will is a truly awful and malicious perspective. Take some responsibility.

Player choice is great, and I hope that Blizzard listens to RPPvP players and gives them the option to play in the type of environment that made them fall in love with Warcraft in the first place.
