What sort of thing is this to say to anyone in any sort of conversation? If you actually think this, you should not be engaging with someone. And if you don’t, shame on you for the unwarranted nasty remark.
I do not.
Although it wasn’t mentioned in the post quoted, dual spec changes the meta for a lot of classes. Speed-running, or other optimal-parsing guilds and raid groups will develop strategies that require both dual specs for classes where there is benefit in such a change, and as we’ve seen time and time again, the rest of the community will follow suit.
Dual spec doesn’t feel Classic to me for a variety of reasons, but one is that we have a pretty simple set of talent trees and a number of talents we can allocate into whichever tree. In Classic, there are many specs that are relatively universal. There are interesting, and sometimes challenging trade-offs or sets of trade-offs to make with how we choose to spec, or whether we choose to use our time and gold to respec. This is a relatively big part of the game for some, myself included, and it’s something I enjoy about the game.
While personally I think that the way it has always been in Classic is fine, I suppose that if the cost for respecc’ing was lower, that wouldn’t be such a massive difference that it would be paticularly meta changing for the average player.
That’s my two cents, and I won’t call you a troll if you have a different opinion. I’d appreciate the same, but you do you.
I’m not attempting to. I’m playing a version of the game that doesn’t have it, on purpose.
