So I have seen people bring up the possibility that elite mobs have been nerfed, including myself, but that appears to be false. So why not just offer us overtuned servers instead?
Vanilla servers aren’t meant to interact with each other anyway so I don’t see what the big deal would be. Servers were popping up one after another at launch anyway so I’m assuming the hardware to host them isn’t an issue and this time around it seems like it would be as simple as the flip of a switch.
To people who want this do not give up!
I do want to refute self challenges by saying that players can come up with self challenges, but you’re still attempting the same content, but with your own twitch. The content and difficulty that Blizzard puts in place is a whole different story. You have to do things and go through things Blizzard puts in place, but can can choose to be an ironman.
Thanks for any likes. Please reply so the thread can be bumped!
It’s an option, to be sure. “Hard Mode” servers, or something. I think that’s a thing that could be done. Would take time to playtest for balance, though.
Or, you know, we can just have two slightly different difficulty modes, like most of the other video games in that have been put out there for public consumption since the dawn of the medium. It’s not asking too terribly much!
weren’t you complaining about how the “nerfed elites” was interfering with your “no changes” in your other thread? now you’re asking them to make changes?
I would say the chance of this happening is about zero. People have asked for specialty servers for fifteen years, and Blizzard has never implemented any of them… unless you count Classic itself.
Because this is not a Pirate server and they don’t need to overtune it to make money by artificially making it take longer.
Sorry but if you want overtuned servers instead of actual Classic go back to playing on the illegal pirate server.
-Character deletes on death
-Gear is much more rare
-Cannot repair gear without long quest to get mats
-all quests are timed and once u fail a quest, it is failed forever
-mobs have random abilities
-dungeon mobs and bosses have random abilities
-mounts add 20% movespeed at epic, 10% otherwise (all travel form stuff, sprint, etc nerfed to give only 5% movespeed)
-rep decays and can decay beyond neutral, causing ur own faction to attack you
-no whispering or talking
-cannot form organized groups, but will instead be matched with random players automatically
-cannot leave group or dungeon until completion or death
-no addons allowed
-no ui
-no nameplates
-no action bar, must cast from spellbook
-mob density increased by a factor of 8
-all mob hp and damage raised to elite level
-no respecs
I’m not taking a side in this conversation really, just pointing out you seem very noncommittal on what exactly you want, and it seems like you just want the game to be made to fit your specific vision.
I also wouldn’t be trying again to get overtuned mobs if others also didn’t want it though. It would be foolish to ask a large company to cater to one person.
Elite mobs are just as hard as they ever were… it’s just that WE are better. The first time you play Dark Souls its rough as hell, but when you play new game + its easier even with the over-tuning.
The same thing is going on here… we’re never going to have that same level of challenge again.
