If warlock could be healers (fanfiction)

So I have made this fanfiction long ago about warlock being healers. I know we’ll never get a warlock healer but this was just something for fun i use to do. I figure I share to the rest.

Spec name: Siphoner
Resource: Mana and Soul Shard

Abilities that uses Soul Shards:

  1. Sacrificial Ritual: sacrifices your minion to heal someone but your pet will come back to life with low amount of health after a debuff.

  2. Soulwell: Sacrifices two soul shard to that healing over time on ground (can be place anywhere within range) healing all players for 10 seconds.

  3. Cauterize: burns an ally to heal them instantly, require one soul shard.

  4. Blazing Shards: burns up to four allies to heal them, require three soul shards.

  5. Shard Emerge: transform a souls shard into mana regeneration.

Abilities that don’t require Soul Shards:

  1. Siphoned: place a hot on an ally and drain life from a target that has Siphon Life dot on a enemy. You can have up two siphon life on an enemy and one siphoner on an ally. This will apply weak heal over time. this won’t change siphon life for the caster: they’ll still restore health.

  2. Life Flow: when you drain life it automatically go to an ally who has siphoned.

  3. Soul Corruption: is a dot that deals shadow damage to generate soul shard after duration completely. Every 15-20 seconds you’ll be generated a Soul Shard.

  4. Life Tap: Sacrifice small amount of your health to restore someone else health.

  5. Soul Tap: is a about 2 minute cool down sacrifice your health to make a barrier on someone to protect them for some dmg.

  6. Burning Ember: allow you use two soul shard ability without using soul shards.

  7. Cauterizing Wound: is a hard casting ability to cauterize a an ally to heal them without using soul shard.

  8. Drain Soul will do small amount of dmg but use to generate soul shard. If channeled completely you’ll have a chance to get three soul shard instead of two.

  9. Corruption: an dot for dmg

  10. Shadow Bolt: cast an bolt of shadow inflicting dmg instantly.

  11. Drain Life: Drain life from target to heal someone using Life Flow and yourself. (If a target has life flow they will receive 60%-85% of the health than the caster, if no target has life flow you’ll receive 100% of the health)

Pet Benefits of Command Demon ability:
Voidwalker increases a party member health by 15%-25% for second.

Succubus: can force a cast call seduction on an party member and granting them a shield through channeling.

Felhunter: only interrupt targets.

Imp: you can remove harmful debuff on party member by using Singe Magic.

Stats Priority: Crit=Haste>Mastery>Versatility (Dungeon) Crit=Mastery>Haste>Versatility (Raid)

Mastery: increase the healing you do from soul shard abilities, hot and as well damage from dots.

Mastery Siphoner: When you cast direct heal or cauterize a target they’ll receive a buff call the siphoner which heals over time for 6 seconds.

Critical Strike: Has a chance to do crit heals and crit dmg.

Haste: increase the dot and hot ticks, and allow you generate soul shard faster from your abilities.

Versatility: increase raw dmg and healing on an target.

I proposed that myself awhile ago, having a Warlock who could heal allies by taking the health from the enemies and moving it to them. It was a good idea that for some reason not a lot of people didn’t like

I mean it’s not much different than discipline priest imo. A little complicated but so was mistweaver and discipline

The problem with warlocks healing is that they do not care about allies. Their allies are means to an end. A warlock would gladly rip out your soul and kill you if it meant aquiring more power

They would not go out of their way to help anyone. Especially if it meant giving their life force to another living being.

It goes against the very lore that makes them a warlock. They’re the bane of all life

This also sounds a lot like a disc priest with a warlock skin on their spells, and life drain tossed in

Warlock have known to be a healer class in other games/lore before .

But they should probably fix what they have currently for specs before adding anything new

Yeah but however there’s also blood magic that can heal. Warlock technically have the magic to do so. But you’re right by lore. This is just a fan fiction I have made years ago and though I share.

Hey, I resent that! As it so happens I care for my friends and allies very much. Just because I play with demons and suck out the souls of my enemies doesn’t make me at all evil.

Now if you wanted to go for cheap stereotypes I’d say you’re not much use as you can be neutralized by throwing a red rubber ball down the hall.

Altruism is not a personality trait of warlocks.

Not always I’ll admit, especially not in Undead Warlocks like yourself, but even the most self-serving Warlock is more than intelligent enough to see the value in keeping ones allies alive. Most monsters here won’t recognize you as an ally just because you turn on your associates, all they’ll see is you making it easier for them to kill you.
