If ur not raiding in a guild, SL ain't for you

Player progression is terrible in SL … unless you are a raider or run guild groups. I’m 170 on my main and there’s almost 0 chance of gettign into even mythic 0 groups and low keys are asking for 190+. That’s only gonna get worse next week as cumulative advantage starts to really ramp up for the leets. Great vault loot that us casuals were locked out of will only widen the gap, along with the premium legendaries for many specs only accessible in the raid, the ilvl advantage for legendaries due to more soul ash lower geared players can’t get out of Torghast yet … and so it will go each week.

There shouldn’t be a 30 ilvl gap between competent players 3 weeks into an expo just because you raid in a guild or not. 3 weeks and you can already see we are back to the leet raider type mentality and casuals are spat on . . because they are already so far behind the gear curve.

COVID gave you the best most captive audience you could have ever had and you spat in the eye of the majority of your player base, the casual and semi-casual players.

Psst. 4 player group sometimes needs a PuG and it’s always listed as a chill group, usually take the first decent DPS that pops up.

make you’re own M0 group.

You don’t need 190 to do 0s. My friend group did a world tour in 170s. We done +2s in 180s.

Frankly it’s probably better for the long-term health of the game to nudge players into guilds.

The game played solo is kind of a sad experience anyway.

So in my limited time this week I looked at pugging today to see if I could make up some lost time, IO addon helped me laughed a few times today.

Saw a dude asking for 10/10 experience while having 0 CN kills this week.

Saw another wanting 195+ w/ full clear on IO, on a fresh pug.

Another description wanted experience killing, without the RL having any boss kills in CN.

The community loves eating itself.

I don’t understand why people are complaining, everyone said the game felt lonely due to CRZ/LFG and now they’re creating a reason to go find a guild and like minded folks to content with on your same server but now this is being seen as an issue? I think the loot system is fine, if anything this is better for the long term health of the game.

Psybearslat was doing M zero with 150ish gear. I mean 190 is higher ilvl than what M zero drops.

Woah, another person with a problem that can easily be solved by making their own groups? That’s the 5th one today :pensive:

yeah skill > gear. those wanting 190 for M0s just want a fast clear to get it done for keys. Like don’t take them seriously at all especially since 190 is over gear for M0s, +2 and +3.

Like anyone who has 190+ doesn’t want to run m0, 2, or 3s since they won’t get upgrades. Well, low chance of running it if they need to fill out their week for the great vault.

Ya, and if ya check the majority of the time you got some fellow in 150s saying “190 ilvl required” and he’s loading the grp with his gear type.

Roll a tank, learn the basic to tank, do your own group, get carried by dps, get a lot of gear, turn into a DPS.
Never failed me.
Playing solo as pure dps classes though you might stick to PvP.
I did mythics0 with less than 170 ilvl.

yeah those who do that are usually cheapskates who just want to be boosted but don’t want to pay. I saw a fresh 60 in 144 post a mythic0 group earlier requiring 185.

Like bro, no one wants you cause they don’t wanna carry you.

If you are a casual why do you care so much about what ilvl others are? Of course people who put in more time than you are gonna be geared better. I don’t know how you having trouble getting into groups if you can tank, heal, and dps. Go at your own pace. I’m almost 200 ilvl and it’s been 100% pugging.

He’s right. I have perfectly competent guildies that can’t get into +2’s.

And it will get worse.

Yup, if I knew it’d be classic-influenced I would of tried to hold off. I am too in my solo ways and the whole on discord and guild interaction is foreign to me unfortunately and always made me feel awkward even though I wanted to find a Guild, make friends and enjoy the game.

A person I know, plays the game a long time told me it’s the pugs that skewed my perspective and he’s right.

But this expansion really amplified it. Slowed it all down, and the friends group, or guild is the most efficient way now and I think would be most enjoyable. (Probably still wouldn’t enjoy the Maw, not to mention they are going to get people more into there and further the story there + development)

Oh well, my times come.

No. Guilds have never worked for me, my life schedule hardly ever is the same with the few dozen guilds I’ve tried. Yes, this is a MMO and I always pugged. Why do you think that the vast majority of casuals (and therefore the players of wow) do not participate in regular guild activities?

So if you play games solo, you are having a bad (sad) experience? Not this player. I prefer solo play, to progess my character, I participate in pug dungeons and raids.

Sometimes. And sometimes it’s wonderful, doing your own thing without someone else’s impatience and judgments.

Although, it would be nice to have some dungeon friends. It has been ages.
Not a fan of Looking For - Anything because of the very reason for the OP’s post, plus this:

…plus, sooo many other reasons I could list if I sat down and started being crabby about them and decide to list them. Which, I won’t.

(that being said, if any of you Wyrmrest Accord players need a chillaxed Hordie dungeon bud, sub 170, I’m down to clown. lol…for fun, and camaraderie…not gear grinding.)

Oh no, there are many games that have a wonderful single player experience.

It’s just that WoW isn’t one of them.
