To be clear, the proposed “changes” aren’t “changes”. They’re nerfs. Level 75+ feels awful. What’s the solution? To make level 70-75 also feel awful after people have already levelled a bunch using the old scaling.
Have you guys learned nothing form Remix? People liked Remix because it was fun. Levelling in TWW is not fun. It’s a chore. And that chore is made worse because it gets harder, the more you level. So you end up relying on the kindness of strangers to carry you through Normal dungeons at 75+ when what they should od is replace you with another 70.
The solution to that is not to make level 70s suck. The scaling is just so horribly broken in TWW. Like why is level 70 dungeon gear like ilvl 408? That’s Season 2 DF gear. It should start at 463+ as a continuation of the DF dungeon scaling. Blizzard created this problem. The horse has left the barn.
I normally prefer TW dungeons because they’re more chill. And honestly the old dungeons are less annoying in general. Maybe the TW dungeon scaling is broken (I heard reports that Legion TW was annoying in the prepatch).
But I wouldn’t be surprised if Blizzard’s response to this is to make TW dungeons as equally as annoying as Normal dungeons.
There, I guess we “fixed the glitch”.
Oh, I was also pleasantly surprised that additional 80s would give you an increasing XP bonus (5% per 80 up to 25%). But I think that too is actually a nerf. I haven’t done the math on this but level 69 takes >400k XP. I wouldn’t be surprised if TWW XP rates with the 25% bonus look a lot like the DF XP rates. If so, all Blizzard has done is made your first 5 characters take longer.
TWW dungeons at 70 should start expecting you to be ilvl 467, not 408 like they currently seem to. That would technically be a nerf. But I would be fine with that if you kept getting better at higher levels rather than getting weaker.
Imagine the dungeon scaling at level 77 expects ilvl 535 (made up example). Have it expect 520 instead.
It should still take the same time or less to level 70-80 but it should be a smoother ride of steadily increasing power.
Yeah I’m fine with that. I just hate that everything is faceroll at 70-74. Then at 75 things start hitting like a truck but you still kill them fairly fast and at 76 they hit even harder and take longer to kill.
if i don’t get a massive ice cream cone i’m quiting…and by damnit blizz there better be no sprinkles…for every sprinkle i find i swear to aman’thul i will leave a strongly worded nonsensical forum post before i do…obligatory reeeeeee
I level pretty causally had 6 level 80 already might do a 7 one tonight if I am not too tired . After the one first one I just spam dungeons do dailies and quest. It gets easier up to 4 level 80 so be for each level 80 you get 10% experience if up to 20%.
The only reason I don’t have a level 80 or two yet is I’ve been playing 4 other games and I’m chronically ill so I need to take a lot of time to rest. I haven’t even played that much of TWW and I have a level 76, level 73, and like 5 others at level 71. Oh yeah I was also spending some time post launch on the pre-patch event trying to get all the transmog which is why I have all those 71s. Also spent a bit of time mining/oreing as it seems tmog and repair is gonna be more expensive this xpac so I wanna get some money for that.
Spend on leveling one toon at a time because for each level 80 you have there is 5% boost for each alts you level up to 20% (so 4 level 80) to get the max experience boosts. I only play one game at a time.
Leveling was ridicilously quick and level 70s and low level 70s were absolutely demolishing mobs their level.
That being said, this nerf, especially considering Early Access, is not right. You have to give everyone the same leveling speed, can’t just switch it up a couple days into launch and give players who paid extra money for early access more then twice the amount of time to benefit from this.
It’s a fair nerf but you have to give the majority of the playerbase a chance to level at the same speed for atleast a couple weeks. This nerf would have been ok in 3-4 weeks when it would have had minimal impact playerwise.
