What are the things you would change if the city actually gets fully rebuild AND NOT become the neutral hub? I am eager to hear your ideas here.
Everyone always forgets but there’s a whole western section of Silvermoon that hasn’t been rebuilt. It’s called the “Ruins of Silvermoon,” and it’s only used for a couple quests in the starting zone.
-
Make it the neutral hub
-
Remove the makeshift wall separating Falconwing square from the Bazaar
-
Add a barber and transmog
-
Move the blood knights somewhere other than squatting half of Farstrider square
-
Add wharfs or move Sunsail Anchorage a bit north on the coast in such a way that it makes sense for it to be the city’s main port
-
Boat connections - Suramar, Bel’ameth, Org, Stormwind (in order of importance)
-
Remove the last Kael’thas statue at Shepherd’s gate (it’s literally the only one they didn’t remove in Cata)
It’s called the “Ruins of Silvermoon,” and it’s only used for a couple quests in the starting zone.
tbh it’s mostly an open park with pavilions and statues as it exists in TBC and Falconwing square is the first inn hub you visit.
On a sheer mechanical level, it should be Suramar/super sized. SMC as it currently exists should expand tremendously while retaining its feel and layout. The Hall of Blood and Farstriders training ground should probably be a lot more separated than what they are, and forges probably shouldn’t be down range of the Farstriders archery range, etc.
The Bazaar probably has the most room for improvement. Its so empty. I get the idea, probably, was to make it the AH and banking hub of the city much like the front of Valley of Strength and Trade District is but with how little the city is populated its just sad. So filling that space up with more stores and stalls, rows for vendors, etc would be great to really fill out the space.
Warlocks, to be selfish, shouldn’t be shoved in a basement. Give them a whole promenade with fel crystals, runic wards, and so on to contain experimentation. The crystals are already floating around the city, why are we shoved in the basement?
They attempted an “urban” questing environment in BC with what they could with the ruins of Silvermoon, and I think that should probably remain a ruin just modernized to, again, Suramar, Dazar’alor, and Boralus levels. If we want to continue with the idea that 90% elves died, it doesn’t make a lot of sense to have SMC fully back up, running, populated, and filled like it did before the Scourge. Running bridges over the Dead Scar in the middle of the city would be a good for it and to see, or even quest, in it attempting to either cleanse it (seemingly impossible) or at least brick it into a golden (or insert color here) memorial for all those that fell, with all of its own wards and what not to stop any potential corrupting spread.
Actually banish them to the city sewers. Create city sewers just for the locks.
Also the fel crystals have been gone for 15 years.
Our sewers are currently being fumigated and you all have plenty of space.
Fumigate the warlocks too, you never know what the demons they consort with bring in.
Its all fun and games until some elf needs a new portable magic battery again. Then who do you come running to?
In the allies of the forest we find a deep bond that does not know deceit.
I’ll stick to farstrider wisdom
Velen is off in the corner, sighing softly. Knowing that he and his people are going to have to bail out the blood elves. AGAIN.
Look, when they had their problems the first time around the Blight was still in development. We’ve gotten down to a science now! What could possibly go wrong?
Maybe this time we won’t get a “Blessed ancestors! I feel it… so much love… so much grace… there are… no words… impossible to describe…” ending
No. Get out.
Also big no. Kael’thas IS the blood elves. The race wouldn’t exist without him.
He’s dead
Get the hell over it already
No. Killing him was one of the worst mistakes Blizzard ever committet.
Remember when Liadrin was an ancestor worshipper and not a human wannabe
Anyway you know what’s really funny about the one Kael’thas statue, it just clashes with the rest of the statuary
Most of the statues in Silvermoon are old elven styles, half of them are pretty much the same you find in, say, old ruined temples of Elune
And then you have Kael’thas, clashing.
Actually if they don’t remove the statue the funniest change they could do is replace the verdant spheres with cleansed mooncrystals (Which, to be clear, is what the verdant spheres are, Kael’thas picked up the mooncrystals of the key of three moons after Arthas corrupted them).
It really wasn’t. You’re the only weirdo who keeps harping over it.
He’s not coming back. Get over it
Would that be after Tempest Keep? or Magisters Terace? Or dealing with him in Shadowlands?
Hell the only person we have killed more times than Kael’thas is Kel’Thuzad. Blizzard loves bringing people back from the dead only for us to murder them all over again. At this point, we have gotten exceedingly amazing at killing both of those guys
Any scenario where he bites the bucket was wrong. I want him back.
Kael’thas had something unique to him. Using his verdant spheres connected him to the losses of his people and his magical power made him equals to Jaina in a fair fight. But Lor’themar has nothing going for him. He has no magic and due to eye loss now sucks at archery. Every blood elf fan feels the same way considering that Lor’themar was just the replacement guy and barley did anything noteworthy through the years.
A lot of the city’s wall will have to basically be redone since the layout of the city in TBC was a raid map - it doesn’t really need a wall on the shore for one and shouldn’t have it.
Also the western ruined area might make sense for where to put the port. There’s also a bunch of unused buildings that more or less just exist to be a wall blocking the scar past the gates
One thing I want to see not specifically in Silvermoon is pockets of reclaimed civilization around the 3 shrines of the moon in Ghostlands. Farstrider patrols, partially restored buildings around the mooncrystals and so on.
Also there should be like, a whole fletching area in Farstrider Square for all the archers. Drop in some of the NPCs from Trueshot, Allerian Stronghold and so on.
I take warlocks over the rangers any day thank you.
