If they made a HC pvp server, how many SoD players would switch?

I skipped HC simply because i dont do pve only servers.

But imagine if you will, a HC classic version where you cannot walk to your body. You have to wait till someone rezzes you. You may wonder in sprit form for a long time before you are revived. And being a pvp server, youll see a bunch of dead bodies thatll remain dead for 2 hours after they log out. That way if theyre rezzed they can accept next time they come online. And rezz timer to accept will be removed and will persist through log outs.
Instanced pvp will work the same way. No respawning, just sudden death matches with the team dying leaving bg to be replaced or waiting in spirit form till rezzed or game ending whichever comes first. Also means no desserter debuff only if leaving while dead.

One final thing, no layers.

A hardcore PVP server makes zero sense.

Stop asking for crazy and clearly bad ideas.

It would have to let Spirit Healer rez be an option while dumping people’s bodies outside of instances on a wipe. You’d need to have a low lvl cap or cripple instance xp gain because otherwise you’d get max sweaters grinding safe instances and then ganking lowbies with stealthers all day. WoW isn’t nearly balanced enough for punishing death PvP and it’s too zerg friendly.

But what you’re suggesting is old MMO gameplay rules with harsh death penalties and one of the reasons WoW got so big was that it was an MMO that did not do that.

This would probably be fun at first and then devolve into degeneracy

A lockout if you die, if you release, it auto rezzes you at the spirit healer and gives you a 3 day lock out. Obviously someone can still rez you in the instance before you release. But if healer dies, then rip find another healer or walk out of dungeon.

Its fine grinding dungeons, part of game mode. Maybe even cripple instance xp to encourage more world pvp.

I would never in my life play that mode.

That doesn’t sound like an HC server.

Not for everyone, Veronika.

This is for the pvpers that want a hardcore server thats focused on pvp. If anything, it would discourage ganking because people have to appreciate their ingame lives more to just willingly try and kill someone knowing they could die instead and itll be hard to get a rez in hostile territory.

Also snipy, its a PVP HC server. Its not exactly die once and you gotta make a new character. Because you can imagine how thats incompatible with pvp. Its a more consequential version of regular classic that puts more emphasis on resurrections spells and healers. PVP meaning you cant just get to 60 breeze free without major pitfalls. Everyone will stay grouped to do quests and whatnot while also getting blasted by other groups, or completely ignored considering no one wants to die. It would be very fascinating to see how it would unfold.

That’s not Hardcorpse.

You die, you die.

you die you die, only way to live again is for a priest to bring you back to life!

lmao, hardcore is for masochists and streamers.

Imagine just standing by your corpse and watching everyone with and without the ability to resurrect you just run by.

Just make your own druid to stealth in wherever and battle res your corpse since you could be resurrected while logged as per the suggested rules

That makes the idea even sillier.

I’d played for a couple of days or so but it would be a ghost town after that of course. The game would entirely just become about rogues standing on the border of Ashenvale/Stonetalon and Barrens.

You simply cross the border and your character ends. That would be the game. Kind of meh.

Sounds like a meme.

The server would be DoA. No one wants to waste time on a server like that.

then your druid gets gankt, gg

Mortal Online 2 already exists.

Wrong category. This is Season of Discovery.

Also speaking of.

Hardcore PVP would be absolutely disgusting. :dracthyr_tea:

Just play another MMORPG where death where you lose progression like Foxhole.

Or just play Roblox’s Deepwoken. I think that appeals to your taste.
