If they ever make another WoW movie

If they’re going to do a Warcraft show, I’d much rather a netflix series over a feature length movie.

Adapting video game stories works wayyyyy better in that format. Just look at the Witcher, Arcane and Castlevania as examples.

Yep the movie cuts happened to please the CCP. Duncan even blogged about it, the original film was supposed to be 40 minutes longer.

Personally WoW would be better as an Arcane style Netflix series. It would give the series the time it needs to tell its story, something a 2 hour movie cannot do.

Read my post just above yours.

That’s laughable. Do you actually believe that it was Blizzard’s intention to release the movie in the US only when the game is played world-wide?

I don’t think you understand it at all. I’ll just stop replying to you.

It can be a trilogy movie.

Also, according to Screenrant, the Chinese Communist Party government took %25 of those profits for the government, so the margin of gain is even lower then the numbers reflect.

Yes because you need to pay a large tribute to the CCP, sorry, mean foreigner taxation, in order to have you movie analyzed by the CCP to have the flag authorized for it. And of course, Tencent Production did take a share as well for having translated and handling the localization.

I understand perfectly.

You’ve spent your morning on Blizzard forums shilling for FF and Sony.

Warcraft made a decent profit, the article you linked details the numbers. So it wasn’t as successful in the US as they expected? They released it overseas. Is that the argument? Because they released Spiderman all over the world as well.

What?

Whatever you say.

u mad bruh?

You’re not as clever as you think you are.

The WoW movie did fine and FF sucks compared to WoW. It doesn’t even come close. I never tried it and I never will. Blizzard is king of the MMO and they will always bear that crown.

No it didn’t. The global profit was $439 million, over half of which came from China alone. However, the huge $160 million production budget plus subsequent marketing and additional costs rendered the profit margins razor thin.

Very reliable source.

The numbers in that other thread says it all.

Is this the shilling for FF and Sony you’re talking about? Cause if that’s the case, you need to touch grass. lol

I guess you missed the part where there are marketing costs as well as licensing costs paid to the Chinese Communist Party. Let’s also add that Warcraft could only muster a weak Rotten Tomatoes score of 28%. No, Warcraft is considered a bombed movie that was only saved by China, because it was custom made for China per the request of the CCP. The next movie will also be censored as the Chinese Communist Party wants it to be.

Have fun with this one bro, I’m done here. Was nice to converse with you tho!
