Every time I run Grimrail Depot, I laugh a little bit that all of the classes in this game are stuck using Swords and Axes, and there’s not one classes that uses Explosives, Mechs, or Tech
Fine. I’m now OK with tinkers. And I also think we should bring in the Ghost Unit from Starcraft.
He has seen the Light!
Totally agree. My favorite unit.
I’d reroll hands down.
Yeah of course you would. They have nukes. Or is a warrior able to punch out a nuclear warhead now, too?
lol it’s a joke
Nukes are cool. but I’m obviously being facetious.
Why? What’s the difference between a Mech and a Ghost?
Well one of them is a Psionically Gifted, Mindwashed Terran Unit from the game StarCraft.
The Other, Is a Technologically gifted Neutral Unit from the game WarCraft 3.
Which WoW is based off of.
This is why in World of WarCraft. We see plenty of Mechs, but we don’t see plenty of Terran Ghosts.
The fact that we have literal orbital bombardment cannons, and a huge part of warfare is still decided by who can swing their sword the hardest is lowkey one of the funniest thing about the warcraft universe.
Sure but that’s a distinction without a difference. We have all the ingredients for something like a Ghost. So ok, we don’t call it a ghost. But we could make a comparable unit from the stuff we have in WoW.
Agreed and it’s so stupid.
Why do you even play this game? It’s a fantasy.
That’s such a cheap question. “Love it or leave it!”
I can think the direction is bad and love the game.
It’s possible. But I think it’s a Stretch. Unlike Tinkers which have been in Warcraft for like 20 Years now.
If you think its stupid, I don’t think Warcraft is for you.
This univers is inherently pretty darn goofy.
Sure it can be dark and serious, and genuinelly wonderful. But there’s always been silly sides to WarCraft.
So you’ve thought the direction is bad since WarCraft 3, Twenty years ago?
There’s literally a Mission where you hire a bunch of Goblin Shredders and Mechs, to go blow up a Night Elf Forest with Missiles and Landmines.
“So what you’re saying is…”
Just stop. You’ve made it clear we disagree. Don’t pick fights over nonsense. Caring about something includes showing concern when it’s going in the wrong direction.
I also think the increasing amount of tech in this game is bad. When does Fantasy become SciFi?
It hasn’t been going in the wrong direction. It’s been in the same direction for 20 years.
WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT
Since WarCraft 3, 20 years ago, Orcs have been ALIENS. Goblins have had Mechs. Humans had Tanks and Gyrocopters and Guns.
There is space travel. Multiple planets in multiple galaxies. A Race of space goats.
For litereally over a decade.
WarCraft is a Sci-fi Fantasy game.
I’m no lore nut, but the draenei have at least space traveling ships since bc.
it sounds like you just don’t like a part of the wow universe.
Because it’s not going in a scifi direction, it’s just expanding on something that already exists.
Well so first of all, you’re picking a fight over something I haven’t said. I’m aware mech and tech has been here since WC3. I played WC3. I’m not.
The proliferation of it, from the Legion and Draenei to now the mech mounts. It’s exhausting. It needs to stop.
Can you explain this?
The Tempest Keep. The Exodar. The Xenedar. , and the Mechanaar all come to mind.
I Disagree, I think that Technology has become so prolific in World of Warcraft that it is now Awkward the we dont have a Class that uses Technology.
If we see Mechs, and Goblin Tinkers, and guns and explosives everywhere. It’s very strange that there isn’t a class that uses any of these things.
Just quoting myself
I’m no lore nut, but the draenei have at least space traveling ships since bc.
it was in my post. If you want me to go over every single aspect of scifi in the wow universe than you can ask the lore nuts, cause the one your talking to seems to know all of them

But that stuff is more steam punk than it is INTERPLANETARY TRAVEL.
I like the Gnome, Goblin stuff. That’s not only fun, it’s what makes WoW unique.
