If they do tbc, it has to be from patch 2.0

I don’t want to play the last catchup patch of the expansion. I want to play the patch with guilds failing on magtheridon and heroic shattered halls. If blizzard decides to do tbc, and does 2.4, it would be the biggest mistake they’ve ever made. Classic is not really an authentic vanilla experience, but 2.0 would give people a real tbc experience where we could actually tryhard again.

This is not likely to happen. (Starting at 2.0 instead of 2.4)

Can I ask why not? They can do progressive patches. A 2.4 start would be terrible.

For the same reason we didn’t start at 1.0 – progressive patching is more work on Blizzard.

They’ll go with “the most complete version” like they did with Classic. FYI- Mag was never hard bro…

We shouldn’t be siding with blizzard so they can take the easy way out. That’s like saying in bfa let’s just release the end game raid at the start because it’s less work. As players/customers we should be pushing for a good gaming experience.

Nah, they will start with the last patch. So expect an easy mode TBC. It is for the best.

As people are now quiting in droves as they can’t log in get easy epics, easy groups.

Mag wasn’t killable for a few weeks after launch. Maybe people can do it now, but it will most likely be a lot harder than vanilla content.

It’s not “siding with Blizzard” to expect them to do the same for a TBC server as they did here – releasing the last content patch at the time of launch.

It’s more work to do what you suggest rather than just launch servers with the last content patch before WoTLK. We already have phases for content, adding progressive patching plus phasing is more work than Blizzard is likely to do. The precedent is set now with the launch of Classic 1.12; there’s no reason to expect a TBC server to not be 2.4.

I was going to say that.

The game is like raiding on wheels right now because the encounters are nerfed and players are buffed compared to 1.1.

I honestly dont care what patch they use so long as the nerf everything and removal of attunements are left out.

Seriously, we dont need bosses being 30% easier.

That’s what they did with Classic as a whole.
Most of the mobs in the world are 10-15% weaker than they were at 1.1, same with instances.

this is why a 2.4 tbc is a huge mistake, because it will be this all over again. A huge factor in arena seasons were the class changes every patch, season 1 arena is not the same as arena season 4 gameplay wise. The items were only a minor factor.

idk, 2.4 talent was much balanced than 2.0 and later point of 2.4 talent had WOTLK talent system which was even better.

A lot of people preferred tbc pvp over wotlk. One thing I remember was that wotlk pvp was way more bursty and rushed with a lot of meelee. If they do progressive patches, then it goes back to being a real mmo and not just a reconstruction of history.

Im not talking about the random nerfs.

Im talking about the one that hit with i believe 3.0 where they lopped off 30% health off everything.
To put it in perspective.
Guilds went from killing illidan to killing illidan without a demon phase.
Muru went from being a guild killer to a pushover

When will people understand that blizzard is overrun by greedy activision goblins.
There’s a gallywix at the head of the company showing them to be lazy and complacent for the good of the bottom line rather than the good of the games

I mean PVP definitely TBC had more involvement and participation vs WOTLK PVP imo.

But if I had to bring up Dual Spec discount and talent re-balancing and adding in WOTLK talent in, I’d say 2.4 is best place to start.

That was the WotLK pre-patch. Classic didn’t launch on patch 2.0. And while BC-Classic, if it comes out, will pretty much inevitably be patch 2.4, it won’t be patch 3.0.
