If there were 4 classes for each armor type

For the emerald dream part shoud have some Fae dragons and bunnies and fawns. If I’m not wrong we cleansed the nightmare (temporarily) by defeating Xavius. Nightmare are a product of N’zoth.

Looking at Darkshore, the blight is our new nightmare.

As a worgen, I feel wrong stepping into the druid class hall and have the laughing sisters greet me with “Everything’s fantastic in the forest, Archdruid.” Hmmmmm

dragoons were plate

When I think dragons, I think mail. But very durable, dragon-enchanted mail. The Dragon’s skin is enough to allow this class to get away with mail for me. If they wore plate you’d have two knights (dragon and death) that wear plate I feel it’d be redundant. But that’s just my opinion. Would be cool to have a true plate battle mage.

Seriously, love this idea

Maybe sorcerer could also use polearms?, need more classes with polearms imo!, I’d love to charge into battle with a spear enchanted!! Be so awesome!

Dunno why people are so fixated on Tinker when the gameplay would certainly suck as much as Legion demonology. “Power armor”? Pretty much any plate user wears power armor right now. Enchanted power armor.

We don’t need a necromancer class. And instead of “dragon knight”, could instead add a warden/shadow hunter/dark ranger mixed archetype, with tank, healing and ranged dps build.

If there was a 4th spec for each class they would have the individual specs striped down to one ability.

IDK what a Dragon Knight is but I’d kill for Tinker and Ranger.

I don’t think Ranger is dumb because there’s definitely enough room for another Bow class. We don’t have an elemental archer, or a healing archer, or the infamous dark ranger.

And while not bow related, we also don’t have Night elf huntresses or High elf spellbreakers (both of which use thrown weapons + shield)

So, yes, give me Ranger. I’d love to have a Tyrande-like healer, with starfall and Sentinel owls; or a Windrunner-like archer, with frost / fire arrows, shadow daggers, and withering fire; and I’d most definitely want to play a freaking SPELLBREAKER! (it’s my favorite WC3 unit).

This class is doomed to fail with no elves.

I really like the dragon knight idea, with different specs for each flight.

I’d think Mail really, for those just in case times they are out of their mech suit.

I don’t know what a Dragon Knight is either. Feels like the most random out of nowhere fantasy concept. But Tinker would be nice.

These can be Class skins or specializations. Iirc Hunters already use some magic. They can expand on that anytime for a spec.

Ahh… a fellow Heroes of the Storm player. But still i think these can just be class skins. Realistically speaking Blizzard is scared to have to balance more at this point. All of these can be Skins or specializations.

Night elf Priests in Classic have starshards, which is very satisfying from a immersion standpoint. But it was also the most underwhelming Priests of the Priest racial bunch.

What I’m saying is, hunter doesn’t really do it for me. I hate the pet, and while MM is fun, it’s not nearly as magical as I’d like. But no, you can’t just make a healing archer a skin for a class. What would that be? Disc priest is the closest thing to it, and it doesn’t really feel remotely similar with all the shielding. There’s also nothing in the game that resembles a spellbreaker.

Why can’t we have two archer classes? I mean, we have warrior, paladin, and DK and they are all extremely different even though they use the same weapons. Or would you argue that DK should also just be a skin for paladin?

I mean… what are the set of skills that a Ranger possesses? Something unique that sets them apart from most?

Marksman Hunter with “lone wolf” or whatever the talent is called… can easily live the Ranger fantasy. Which is why i think it’s a class skin or spec at most.

Look at Shadow Hunters in Warcraft 3, notice how they are literally Shamans with a bow? You can easily make a Priest of Elune class skin for Night elves and slap a bow on it with moon themed spells.

A lot of race class combinations are called different things like Zandalari Pre-lates or free thinkers or whatever. It’s still a Paladin at the end of the day, it’s not like they need to make an entire new class just for Zandalari Paladins.

I suppose Priestess of the moon and Dark rangers are iconic enough to warrant this class skin idea.

You got me there, it’s skill set is nothing like we have playable today. The problem is they need enough unique abilities and specializations to be a independent playable class. And i don’t know when spell breakers can be relevant.

For example we had Demon Hunters in Legion since it’s about, well… y’know Demons. This class barely made the cut and some would argue it stole a lot from Warlocks.

I’d switch dragon knight and tinker personally.

I can literally come up with a list of archer skills that hunters don’t have in a few mins, just going by WC3 units, HotS heroes, and WOW lore. And I can also list things hunters have that rangers DON’T have (starting with literally all the traps and gadgets)

But here, let’s brainstorm

(starting with the easy ones that rangers already do have):
Sentinel snipe, Lunar Flare, Light of Elune (heal), Starfall, Shadowstalk (as an AoE heal and stealth), Dark arrows, Life drain, Withering Fire, Shadow Dagger, Wailing Arrow, Mind Control, Spellsteal, Control Magic, Feedback, Spell immunity, Frost arrows, Searing arrows, Mana shield.

(that right there is enough for a class, mages have less spells that that, but, let’s keep going)
Multi-arrow (like magic missiles, but arrows)
Entangling shot (like entangling roots, but an arrow)
Magic volley (like flamestrike, but arrows)
Teleport
Dragonstrike (like Hanzo’s)
Dragon arrow (Hanzo’s other ult)
Scatter arrow (again, like Hanzo)
Revealing arrow (like flare, but with magic)
Guided arrow (hits without LoS)
Immolation arrow (like Searing arrow, but AoE)
Frostbomb arrow (like Frost arrow, but AoE)
Ghost arrows (hits through walls, and pierces all enemies hit)
Shadow clone (like Nova’s decoy)

I could go on, I have barely touched on the spellbreaker, but that’s already more skills than any other class. And it’s all very different from what hunter has.

WoW could definitely take inspiration from Hots if it really wanted to. (well actually Hots takes inspiration from WoW and Warcraft 3…)

But theses spells and concepts must be carried over to an MMO and balanced as such. We are also in the pattern of usually getting a class but Blizzard decided against it so they can balance the other classes out.

Case in point why most of these class concepts would just be skins or some sort of cosmetic.

And one more thing… it needs to be lore friendly. I don’t know how Hanzo from Overwatch is going to make his way into the wow world with his own unique class.

It’s not about Hanzo, he’s just a good point of inspiration for some skills: Hunters don’t have a long range AoE stun that teleports them to the targets hit, and Hunters don’t have a massive area denial AoE that moves slowly in a line, and gets a reduced CD as you hit with your other skills. Both of those skills would work perfectly in WOW.

Right now, the only reason not to have more classes, is simply: they don’t want to.

There’s more than enough justification to have them.

If they want to make a more mobile bow and arrow user.

I suppose they can stretch it out??

I still think all of this can just be a spec still.

Nah man,
1 spec for heals (sentinel, or just “light”),
1 spec for dps (farstrider, or just “dark”),
1 spec for tank (spellbreaker).

That makes a class.

They should have made the recent classes use different armors then what they assigned them. Monks should wear cloth. Demon Hunters could stay leather, but I could see them in mail as well. Tinkers cloth or leather if they were to join. Mainly, I really feel monks should have been cloth.
