I would definitely play it again. Cataclysm had a whole host of problems that we’d never seen before, but I personally had quite a lot of fun with it. I thought Firelands was awesome, and I was still enjoying collecting achievements/mounts/pets/toys ever since Wrath introduced more of them (plus the systems for them). The 5-man heroics were really interesting and fun before they were nerfed. I also actually enjoyed Dragon Soul. Leveling alts was still super fun for me, and I actually quite enjoyed the level 80 Cataclysm questing zones. Vashj’ir/Hyjal into Deepholme is something I enjoyed quite a bit, and I probably leveled through those at least 7 times in Cataclysm.
Of course, I hope that the WoW team continues to “correct wrongs” and removes raid finder at the very least. I’d probably like to see dungeon finder removed as well. I don’t want to see transmog ever again, or cross-realm zones/connected realms.
But yeah, whether they changed it or not, I’d still play it. It pales in comparison to Wrath, and I hope that we get Wrath era or SoM servers, but I’ll definitely play Cataclysm if it happens. I’ll probably quit WoW forever once Cataclysm is over if there’s no “forever Wrath” though.
