Just asking. The previous Blizzard excuse was so that classes could more easily be identified. That is now completely out the Window with the addition of the new SHOP mog.
Srsly that excuse is dead and they need to #freethemogs
Because when I think of a very agile, quiet, spry rogue who gets in and out of situations with stealth and cunning, I think very loud plate armor clanking together…
…wait.
There’ve been mogs that aren’t class locked as far back as WoD, though. This isn’t a new thing.
This is excuse
“Hello I like money”
Heritage armor and the wendigo onesie had already struck that argument a lethal blow. The new mog is just the coup de grâce.
At least let me wear my sunglasses and santa hat year round. Come on Blizzard.
A few exceptions doesn’t mean we need to throw the entire system out the window. They have given us a lot of options.
It was thrown out the window with the Wendigo Woolies outfit.
Because Blizzard offer a weird fairy wings tight suit transmog set in the shop, people want to remove tmogs restrictions?
I think it’s less a logical connection, and more that posters very much enjoy hopping on whatever hot-button issue has fixated the forums, and attempt to use that for whatever issue they themselves are concerned with.
Nah. It has more to do with Blizz lackluster customization. Instead of mogging Blizz should of went with dyes or tints instead…would of been a lot less programming. High end raiders and gladiators would still have the better gear but at least the lowbies could still make the clown suits look better. But Blizz devs do not actually play the game so what does it matter to them…
Dyes would probably be significantly more difficult to implement than transmogging.
Rogues have been able to mog the Stormwind Plate set from WoD for years, as well as the more recent Eternal Traveler Armor (which is either Mail or Plate) for months.
That excuse is dead.
Uh, no. Transmog is 100% better than a Dye system and far less programming than it would take to make every single piece of gear they add have the correct properties to dye.
Then don’t mog YOUR rogue with plate.

Dyes would probably be significantly more difficult to implement than transmogging.
Nah. The difference is that when you apply a tint it does not change the armor except the tint., whereas when you apply a mog it is basically hiding what you are wearing, replaces that mesh with another mesh while retaining your gear stats. I play around with animation and making morphs. it is far easier to just add a bit of color than the giant mess that Blizz does. The only reason they do it the way they do is because people wanting to mog is closely tied to gold, which is tied to tokens and they make money off tokens. Greed trumps the player.
100% agreed hunters look awful in mail for class fantasy leather is way better looking. I dont even mind if you still have to collect appearance on class that uses that armor type

Transmog was introduced four years before the WoW token was a thing.
Transmog: Patch 4.3.0 (11/29/11)
WoW Token: Patch 6.1.2 (3/5/15)
