If The Jailer is so big and bad, why doesn't he just kill us?

Maybe I missed something in the lore but seeing as him having eyes everywhere and we casually waltz in and out of a domain which is deemed inescapable were he has been basnished running around doing things would make me mad if I were him.

Its kind of silly to play a game where one of the main villain kicks back and watches us do everything.

hes a nice guy he wouldnt do that 2 us

Could ask the same about any big powerful baddie in any game, tv show, or movie tbh.

because we’re nothing to him.

Imagine having some of the most powerful characters in lore (and Bolvar) at your mercy but not offing them right there and then?

It’s sillyness all around.

Funny enough, if Sylvanas didn’t fly an arrow toward Zovaal then we would have been brainwashed. :robot:

A lot of villains do this kind of thing, not just in WoW. They don’t kill the heroes out of pride and arrogance. The Jailer wants everyone to serve him, to break them and anyone who defied him. Simple death is not enough. He’s kind of a twisted guy like that. Torghast is known for torture after all, not death.

Like right here he found it more entertaining to let Sylvanas be left to the ā€œmercyā€ of those who completely despise her from her world. He doesn’t consider any of us to be actual threats.

And he’s kind of right. So far he’s proceeded forward with his plan without any interruption. We’re still losing, we’ve done nothing to really stop him yet or even slow him down.

Its low quality writing is all. The story hasnt been thought through long enough to resolve obvious issues in a logical manner. So you ignore it. Thats all you can do.

I really had hope back in bfa the story would be going places.

Ill be happy with the story if it turns out to be just a quick excuse to drop a WOW2 or something in 10.0 … if its good at least.

But yeah the whole story just seems like they have 5 different writers all writing at the same time so its all over the place with tons of plot holes, purposeful audience deception which imo is cheap and lazy writing if not done right, and just clearly not much time was spent connecting it all together.

Sotryline arc bloat is a thing in this game.

If I were a WoW villain, Azeroth would be doomed.

Underestimation meets overconfidence

Because of you know, plot. We need the story to move forward.

Reminds me of Austin Powers with the slowly moving dipping mechanism scene.

because enemies need to be even dumber than the heroes for some reason

I hate this answer because it confirms I might be wasting my time with this game

Because the Jailer is written as a bond villain.
More specifically, he’s written as how Dr.Evil parodied the villains. You know. So sure of how their ā€˜evil mastermind 6d chess plan’ is flawless

Hmm. We shall see how the rest of the story unfolds. I just think its stupid to overlook the fact that we are Maw Walkers especially since he himself can’t escape and that does make us a legit threat to whatever he’s got planned.

That question could be asked for most villains in fiction.

Because he has bigger plans, and everyone in attendance of that cinematic is powerless against him. Do you step on every ant that crosses your path just because you have the power over them?

I liked Taliesin’s take on the whole cinematic:

But come on at least destroy the Maw port lol

Why didn’t he kill us in the runecarvers room?
