If TBC does come out

Is it going to be “forced” or optional?
Because if it’s going to be forced, I’m done.
Goodbye.

It’s hard to believe it can be anything besides optional.

I hope it’s forced so you leave, 1 less horde is a good thing.

No one knows. Not even blizzard.

But you’ve invested so much time into your character.

Why do you play horde then

They’ve basically stated they want to keep classic as “a museum piece” so there’s a much larger chance that they leave Classic servers alone and make dedicated TBC servers.

Although I’d like TBC because I didn’t get to play that age of WoW, the Classic+ rumors I hear sound interesting; that is, the content planned for post-Naxx, but pre-TBC. IIRC.

I have a better chance of crapping a turd made of gold than Blizzard doing Classic+, it’s a gamble and TBC is free money.

They straight up cancelled Diablo 2 Remaster because they wanted people to move on to the new thing (Diablo 4). How do you know TBC is on the table?

That’s it.

$$ that’s how. TBC is very little effort with at least as much return as Classic brought.

And you got a legit source on the D2 thing? Becuase that seems like a HUGE freaking rumor with no basis.

Well… That’s why I said “rumors.” lol. I hope your turd drop chance is better than world drop chance, otherwise you may need to see a doctor!

What interests me about the OP is that asking themselves “what would be a reasonable business decision that would net the most ROI and cause the smallest amount of PR backlash?” would have answered this question.

It’s disturbing how many people feel the need to either come on and whine (yes, I see the irony) or expect others to think for them.

That’s actually sad because D2 was so damn good.

I suspect Acti-Blizzard is kinda upset that game devs from 15+ years ago are just flat better.

As far as I recall, when TBC dropped they ran the xpac on the same servers, but didn’t force people to upgrade, so if your friend didn’t have the expansion, they might not have the same Quests available to them & couldn’t follow you to Hellfire Penninsula, etc. To make them separate would be silly not to mention costly.

But they did force you to upgrade.

The game still patched and regardless of if you bought BC you were playing a game with all it’s changes.

Making them seperate is the only way to keep Classic, Classic and they’ve already said doing TBC Classic would be easier so it would likely be less costly as well.

And they’re going to be using less resources on Classic at that point. People for some reason keep thinking each of these servers is on a separate PHYSICAL server and they’re expensive to run, they’re not in either way, they’re all virtual servers.

Eventually, yeah, but I thought at first they didn’t, hence why I said you couldn’t do all content? But yes, the launcher updated, that I remember.

What do you mean “TBC Classic”, did they confirm how they’d do it? (I’m not talking about conjecture, I’m wondering if I missed something where they confirmed it that’s all).

They didn’t say how or that they are at all, they just said if they wanted to do TBC Classic servers it would be a lot easier for them after having done Classic itself.
